Hi I'm Hyrum Grenny

I am 16 years old. I'm an athlete. I love to spend time with other people. I like to have fun. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love to play all types of sports. I used to play a lot of them competitively but now all I play seriously is soccer. I play on my high school team and we are really good. I love to hang out with my friends, and do fun activities with my family. I value religion very highly in my life. I won't say I'm perfect because I am nowhere near it. I make thousands of mistakes every day, but I will say that I try my best and make sure to repent and get back on the straight and narrow when I get a little thrown off.

Why I am a Mormon

I love the church and the relationships it helps me form with others in my life, including my family. Through most of my journey on earth so far I have been blessed with a worthy father who has been called into almost every young men's group I have moved up through (Deacons, Teachers, and Priests). Not only do I love the bonds the church help me form with other here on earth but also the bond it forms with my Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. They are always there for me to go to when I'm struggling and it seems I have no one else to go to for help. I love my religion.

How I live my faith

I do my best not only to serve as in example for others in all I do and say, but I also try to invite. If there is someone I know of who is less active in the church or who isn't a member I always try to friendly invite them to come to seminary with me. Or to come to one of my young men's activities with me. I never force, but I always just friendly urge or invite. Often times that can be the most successful way in my opinion. You show people love, and treat them positively, and they respond positively.

What is the priesthood?

Hyrum Grenny
We believe that the priesthood is the power to act in God's name. It is a gift from God that you need to be worthy to receive. When you are worthy to be blessed with the priesthood it is our duty to serve others with it and to do good works continually with this awesome power. Show more Show less

What are Mormon women like? Do Mormons believe in equality of men and women?

Hyrum Grenny
In the mormon religion men and women are treated completely equally, they just have different roles. The women have roles that they are much much better at than the men would be, while the men have roles that they probably could do better than the women. This is what helps our church function so well and orderly. The man cannot function properly without the woman and the woman can't without the man. That is the basis of marriages in out church and also the goal of our church overall. Show more Show less
