Hi I'm Elle

I'm a newlywed, outdoor enthusiast, nursing student and a Mormon

About Me

I grew up in southern California and had a wonderful childhood there with my family. My father passed away from cardiomyopathy when I was ten. This is what brought us to Utah. I am currently attending nursing school and work in the hospital as a nurses aid. I recently met the love of my life and married his cute face in February. We are having the time of our lives. We both enjoy traveling, rock climbing, our dogs and everything outdoors. I love teaching yoga, thrift shopping, journaling, and exercising. My husband is studying geology and loves everything about it. We are so happy and owe it all to the gospel!

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a mormon because I've seen the blessings it brings to my life as well as others. As I mentioned earlier, my father passed away when I was ten. This was a huge devastation to everyone who knew him especially our family. He was the most stalwart, incredible and loving father a child could ask for. I remember being very sad when he passed yet I had a peace that was indescribable. My young soul understood that it was not the end. I knew from the teachings of the gospel that I would be with my Dad again. I felt silly at time crying about it because I knew he was watching over me and wouldn't like to see me sad. There were many miracles that took place after his death in the form of dreams and other spiritual things that built our faith as a family. Each day I think about the legacy my father left, and the incredible gift we have to live with our loved ones after we die. As a nurse, I learn what a healthy life is in every aspect, with my perspective as a Mormon, I see a direct parallel between the two. The gospel enables us to live the most healthy, enjoyable and rewarding life possible. Everything we do has a purpose. It is easy to see the rules and think- how stupid but when you learn the principle behind what we do, you find a sense of purpose. As I grow closer to my Heavenly Father, I feel more confident, positive and motivated to be the best person I can. My life seems to have a purpose because I know where I'm from, what I'm doing now, and where I can be if I am faithful. When I put the spiritual things first in my life, all other priorities fall into their proper place and that in and of itself is an incredible blessing.

How I live my faith

Over the years, I have gained an immense love for serving. Before my job in the hospital, I worked in an assisted living center for the elderly. I would help them each day get dressed and assist them in any other daily activity. Serving at the feet of these incredible and wise people put a smile on me each day. I began to feel a sense of purpose at work. I experienced the joy in serving and truly benefitted more than they. Each day I recorded my feelings throughout the day of the insight and inspiration I received as I was serving these wonderful people. My heart became more tender and began to thirst for this service. Working as a nurse assistant in the hospital, I am able to experience these same feelings. I love my job. I work on a med/surg floor and am able to do many simple but meaningful things for these patients. Even when the days get busy, my faith keeps me strong. i saw a prayer on the way to work that I will be led by the Spirit and help each person to the best of my ability. After a rough day at work, I am tired but satisfied and happy. I can leave work with a smile knowing I helped someone do the things they could not do for themselves. Everything about nursing inspires me. I feel closer to my Savior as I serve as he did, at the feet of every type of person. With the help of the Spirit, I learn to treat everyone as an equal and see them the way my Heavenly Father does. The gospel is my strength and my stone. I owe everything to its goodness.
