Hi I'm David

Premed. I love to smile. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

If there is one thing life has taught me, it is how much our Heavenly Father loves us. I look for ways to grow and bless others in our present search for understanding and happiness in this life. My friends all know my as "Smiley Dave," and I smile because I love my Savior. I'm an undergraduate Neuroscience researcher at Brigham Young University and a hospital intern. It's always been my dream to become a physician and heal others with medical science. Christ is the great physician of both spirit and body, and He is my Leader. My greatest aspiration is my own future family. When I'm not studying, I'll be playing ping pong or ballroom dancing. I love life, and life loves me back! :)

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I have learned for myself and through my experiences that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is in fact the same Church that Christ organized during His mortal ministry. God send messengers - prophets - to bring us the truth. Men such as Noah and Abraham have been called of God and given power to preside in His Church since the beginning of time. Christ established His Church two millennia ago, and the authority to lead this church was given to the apostles. I testify that Joseph Smith is a prophet. Called of God, he restored the truths lost through centuries of secular pollution of Christ's pure doctrine. As anciently, God once again speaks to man through an official representative here on the earth, Thomas S. Monson. I testify of living prophets! If we read and ask God with a sincere heart, really wanting to know, and having faith in Jesus Christ, He will show us that all these things are true. And they are!! I have felt the guiding presence of the Holy Spirit confirm to me that this is the Gospel of Jesus Christ in its fulness. Families can be together forever (Matt. 16:14–19). I have come to best know my Savior through this marvelous work. I'm a Mormon, and I love it!

How I live my faith

There is always good to be done in the world - it can be a smile, a helping hand, an embrace, or a thoughtful remark to someone in need. There are hands to be lifted, lives to shape, and many opportunities to impact those around us. I always do my best. I strive daily to live faithful to the promises I've made with the Lord and to follow Him. By being my best, I give permission for others to shine. Life is a journey of decision, and the roads we choose determine destiny.

Are Mormons Christians?

Absolutely. All that is done in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is centered on Jesus Christ. He is our perfect example and our mediator with the Father. In Him and through Him, we can become cleansed of our sins and return to live with God again. We are not the Church of Joseph Smith, neither the Church of President Monson, nor of Peter nor of Abraham, but the Church of Jesus Christ. That make us Christian. Show more Show less
