Hi I'm Michaela Whitaker

I'm Mormon. I love Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ and because of that I'm serving my mission in Budapest Hungary!

About Me

I'm Michaela, I attended college at Brigham Young University for a year. Now, I have received my mission call to Budapest Hungary and I am so ecstatic! My favorite activities are lifting weights, running, biking, and hiking. I like to watch and play sports, as well. I'm an only child, but don't mind, it gives me a lot of alone time, which can be nice, especially when the world seems to keep going non-stop.

Why I am a Mormon

I was adopted from China, by my parents when I was eleven months. My dad was born into the church and my mom is a convert. They were both members when they adopted me, so I guess you could say that I was "born" into the church. I love the gospel, I honestly don't know where I'd be without it. I choose to stay in the gospel because I know its true and in these tumultuous times, you need something that's everlasting and consistent; the gospel is just that. I have a testimony of the incredible power of prayer, and how whenever you need someone to talk to, you can get on your knees and talk to your Heavenly Father. He is there for you, and will help you in times of need. All of the blessings that you will receive are predicated on your faithful obedience to the gospel, He will be there for you, at all times, in all places. I have a testimony of the Book of Mormon and how it is translated correctly and how it's meant for our day. We need to heed the words that are within that sacred book, because without them, returning to live with Heavenly Father and Jesus is nearly impossible. I have a testimony of missionary work and how they are called of God to serve and to assist other people in the world that are in need of the gospel, the iron rod, in their lives. I have a testimony of prophets and how they are men, called by God, to lead and guide this church. They would never ever lead us astray and every word they speak comes directly from God, through revelation.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by being an example. I see people, all around me, on a daily basis that struggle with the truth, and they have a hard time doing what's right. I try to be that person they turn to, or look to, to help them choose the right. I also choose to be a leader within my ward and community. I try to be examples to the younger youth in our ward, by being reverent or by participating in group discussions. I try to give a hand to anybody who needs it, because "when ye are in service to your fellow beings, ye are only in service of your God." I also utilize my knowledge of the gospel to teach others and to inform them of my standards and religious background.
