Hi I'm Tanner Boyer

I love family, friends, sports and being an Uncle to a bunch of little rascals. and yes I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Sandy, Utah and I am the youngest of four brothers and no sisters but you could basically say I have sisters because all of my brothers are married and their wives definitely are sisters to me. They also all have kids so around our house and I am known as Uncle Tanner and I get to spend a lot of time being a kid again as I have fun with my nieces and nephews. I love it! I love making others happy especially people who are having a hard time. There are 3 very important things to me in my life the first is family and friends. Another thing is sports. I love sports, and I love to compete. I have played basketball, football, baseball, and lacrosse my whole life. In lacrosse we were back to back State Champions my junior and senior year and I loved it so much. The most important thing I learned because of sports was hard work, and I strive to work hard on all that I do. The last thing very important to me is the Gospel. Though it was last on my list it is first in my life, I would have nothing else if I didn't have this, It is truly everything to me. It is who I am and I could not be happier about it. I know for a fact that nothing else I could distinguish myself as could make me as happy as what the teachings of this church and Gospel make me

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the Church but i do not think that that is why I am Mormon. In a way it is but also is it is not. I have had the opportunity to grow up in great programs that built my testimony of the gospel, and also by having 3 older brothers and great parents who lived the gospel, I could see first hand the blessings and happiness they received from living the gospel and those blessings were amazing. You cannot live off the testimonies of others so I have had to gain my own testimony. I cannot say that my life has been really hard but i have had some challenges and through these challenges I have always felt the love of God and his son Jesus Christ. Recently I was diagnosed with OCD, at the time I was serving as a missionary for the church but because of the difficulty with my OCD I made the decision to return home until I was more healthy and able to deal with the stress of missionary work. This was a very difficult time for me, I have wanted to serve as a full- time missionary for the church for my whole life and I did not really want to delay it any longer. But as I have been patient through this experience I have learned that it was for my good and that it needed to happen. I have learned so much about the gospel these past months and have strengthened my testimony a lot. Before this experience I believed the church was true but wasn't totally sure. But now after what I have experienced and through study, prayer, and attending the Temple. I have had very real feelings that I cannot deny and were not made up and I know that it is true! I know that our Heavenly Father is there and that he cares about each of us and our concerns. I have felt his love time and time again through difficult times. That is why I am mormon because know that I a Child of God and that he loves me and wants me to return to him and I want to do all I can to make sure that happens :)

How I live my faith

I live my faith by serving and by loving those around me. I try not to put people down but try to lift them up. My goal is to do as Elder Jeffery R. Holland counsels and always make the situation better. In my faith i have had many opportunities to serve and lift others around me and I love the way I feel when I do so.

Why is family so important to Mormons?

Tanner Boyer
Families are so imporatant because we are all God's Children. He is literally our Father and he loves us so much! Because he loves us and wants us to return to him he has placed us here on this earth in families, so that we may grow and learn from each other and and help each other return to our Father in Heaven. I am the youngest of four brothers in my family and I have learned so much from each of my brothers. Through hard times my parents and brothers have been there to support me and help me through experiences. A lot of times they have already dealt with something similar so they offer great advice and comfort in time of need. Not only is family a little important to our church it is the most important. We believe the family is ordained of God and the most important thing we can do in this life is to be Sealed as a family for time and all eternity in the Temple. We know that families are forever!
