Hi I'm frase

I'm a Latter Day Saint. I'm from Scotland, I play the piano and guitar. I also served a mission in spain

About Me

I am very musical, I am currently the choir director, I love motor sport, swimming and soccer. I've lived in lots of different places and I speak a wide variety of languages, I like to make friends and have fun.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Latter Day Saint because I've read the scriptures(bible and book of mormon) and I have prayed and asked God, just like Joseph smith did to find out if it's really true, because we all need to find out for ourselves. When I prayed I just felt really good, because the spirit speaks to us through our thoughts and feelings, and I just thought that it was something I needed to do and I can honestly say that it was a great choice. The gospel can be hard to live at times, but it is so worth it.

How I live my faith

I accept whatever the Lord asks of me, I look for opportunities to help others and make their burdens lighter. I do family scripture study and prayer, I also play the piano for church sometimes, I also share the gospel with others and do my best to help them be happy just like I am.

How are modesty and chastity related? How can parents teach their children to be modest in dress, language and behavior?

frase
Modesty and chastity are related as the way we dress usually tells other people about the kind of person we are. If we dress immodestly then that can put bad thoughts into the minds of others, and satan will then use that to tempt people, and may even encourage people to disrespect such a person, or may even encourage them to break the law of chastity. When someone is chaste they are pure in what they think, say and do. Parents can teach their children to be modest in dress, language and behavior by setting a good example, in how they dress, speak to each other and how they treat each other. Also these principles can be taught in family nights, and ways to overcome temptation or situations that would lead away from chastity and immodesty can be discussed so that children know what to do in such situations, thus helping them to maintain the companionship of the spirit, such as by singing a hymn in their mind or saying a scripture, or even praying to their father in heaven, as he promises us that he will give us a way out of our temptations.
