Hi I'm John Smoot

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a 5th generation pioneer. My great, great grandfather settled in Salt Lake City in 1849. I am also a direct descendant of a captain in the Mormon Battalion. I have been a member of the church all of my life. I served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of latter Day Saints in Argentina. I am a plastic surgeon as well as reconstructive surgeon and I love taking care of those that are in need of my services. I have many other interests other than surgery, which gives me great diversion so I can keep focus and balance in my life. I love the sport of archery and have shot a bow and arrow since I was twelve. I also hunt, fly fish and love the outdoors. I have five children who have attended college and have stayed faithful to the doctrine of Christ.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon not because I was born into the church or did what my parents and family expected but because I sought out and found out for myself that it was true. I did read the Book of Mormon and ask the Lord if it was true and by the power of the Holy Ghost received my testimony

How I live my faith

I live my faith by what I do and how I act everyday. This who I am and all that I do is related to this end. I have served in many positions in the church but my current calling is the most important because that is what the Lord wants me to do now.
