Hi I'm Tanner

I Love Life, Baseball, Books & My Family. Right now, I'm a Missionary serving in Brazil. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I like to think that I am a Renaissance Man of sorts: I love to read, especially good English poetry and tales of history. I am a sports enthusiast, with baseball taking the prize as my favorite. At various times, I fly fish, sail, rock climb, nap, and play lots of ultimate Frisbee. Right now I am a student at college, where I am studying Chemical Engineering and International Business. I love to paint on quiet Sunday afternoons, and sing enthusiastic renditions of "Fly Me to the Moon" and Handel's "Messiah" in the shower. I adore traveling and have lived in seven states. Now I am a missionary for the church in Brazil having the time of my life serving the people. Most of all, I am a big brother and a friend, who's blessed with the restored truth of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and the Joy that it brings.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church, but I was converted around 10th grade. That is, I came to the realization that if I was to live the life of a Mormon, if I was to continue in this faith, I had to know it was of God. I read and prayed and fasted until I knew that I had received an answer. I know this church to be God's Kingdom on the Earth today. The gospel contains a fulness of Truth, and it is this knowledge that brings a perspective and peace to the chaos of Life. I know why I am here, and that my Heavenly Father has a wonderous plan for me. Through His Son, Jesus Christ, I can return to live with Him and my Family forever. That is why I'm a Mormon. Becuase I know it to be true, which knowledge brings me joy.

How I live my faith

I play piano and organ for our choir and for the children's primary. I love to teach from the scriptures and often teach classes. I work a lot with youth, organizing events, like with our local Boy Scouts troop. Right now I live my faith serving a mission in Brazil, as an authorized representative of Jesus Christ. I teach His gospel and its the best job I've ever had.

What do Mormons believe about family?

Mormon's believe that the Family was ordained of God. We believe that through sacred ordinances, families can be forever. Families are one of our greatest sources of Joy in this life. And that is why the knowledge that we can again have this joy after this life, brings us peace and comfort. Show more Show less
