Hi I'm Sam McConnell

"I enjoy listening to Ukuleles, being on a boat, lazy Sundays, watching Rugby matches, and being a Mormon."

About Me

I've always had some great friends and I have enjoyed many long lasting friendships over the years. My friends have always brought me up to do great things. I studied at the University of Utah for a semester, studying Biology and Business. I hope to be able to one day become a Dentist, if I can get a little smarter. I love music. I enjoy playing instruments, but I only know a couple of songs. I love Breakdancing. I could talk all day about breakdancing, but I cannot dance at all. Someday I hope to learn how to. I enjoy many sports like Tennis Racquetball and Rugby. I come from a family of 5, of which I am the 2nd oldest. I love my siblings and the many goofy things that we do together.

Why I am a Mormon

I feel that being a Mormon just gives me that boost to try to be better. Through being a member, trying my best, and looking back on the events of my life, my testimony is sure. A few years ago I had a near death experience, that left some severe damage to my body. Everyone around me just always kept reminding me how lucky I was. But I didn't feel lucky. I felt abandoned. Just because I had survived did not mean that I did not feel enormous amounts of pain. I just remember being so mad. I did not know why I had to experience what I had experienced. But over time, I came to know that Christ knows what I feel and what I experienced. There was never really a moment when I realized how the accident had changed my life for the better. I just would look back on the years since then and would realize that things had become better. I've been able to be with my family. I have received a new little sister since then. I've been able to make and keep great friends. And I have been able to experience so much more. Although that trial did almost destroy me, I'm still here. And my life has been amazing. From that, I know God is there.

How I live my faith

I try my best to do good in how I think and act. Trying to keep my thoughts and actions centered on important things. I feel that there are times that life just doesn't make sense, and it's in those times that I know that I can be guided if I do what is right, ask, and am willing to be guided. I feel that I live my faith by just trying little by little to make improvements. I believe that through service I have been able to see how much the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints cares about all around the world. I love doing service and I'm grateful for the Church and their "Mormon Helping Hands" program. I have learned most from other's examples, so I am trying to be an example. I live my faith by having hope, and trying to bring that hope to others. I know that the Gospel of Jesus Christ can bring others that hope, and I know that through it, people can find everlasting happiness.
