Hi I'm Nguyễn Hồ Dzũng, Ethan Woolsey

I'm a 21 year old serving a mission, I have a BS in Computer Information Technology, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My name is Ethan Woolsey. I have a loving family in Washington state consisting of my parents, an older brother, a younger brother, and of course our dog, Indy. We love the Northwest's fresh air, year round greenery, beautiful Puget Sound and the ability to easily experience both nature and city life. Some of my favorite activities include skateboarding, basketball, videogames, watching movies with my family, friends, and my beautiful girlfriend, listening to music (I have absolutely NO musical skills), and experiencing the outdoors through hikes, boating, and camping. I attended Brigham Young University in Idaho after graduating High School with my AA in general arts and sciences (a transfer degree), and graduated two years later with a degree in CIT, which is basically applied computer science. Currently, I am in the Missionary Training Center learning the Vietnamese language so that I can teach Vietnamese speaking people the gospel of Jesus Christ in California, Anaheim. My girlfriend is working on her paperwork to serve a mission as well, and I am excited to find out where she will be going . Upon return, I plan on attending dental school through the United States Airforce's Health Professions Scholarship Program (HPSP). This is a program in which the USAF pays for my schooling and I repay them by working as a dentist (an officer) for the number of years that I attend dental school, most likely 4. This has been my career plan since 5th grade.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I have a testimony that the Book of Mormon is true and that God has restored the fullness of his gospel to the earth. I have seen the benefits of following Christ in my life, especially through my family relationships. I know that anyone that applies His teachings in their life will be able to notice the difference and that if people will actually, sincerely read, ponder and pray about the Book of Mormon, that they will receive a witness from the Holy Ghost that it is true. If the Book of Mormon is true, it means that God exists and truly is our loving Heavenly Father. It means that Joseph Smith was a prophet and actually restored the gospel and priesthood authority to the earth. It means that there is purpose in this life. The Book of Mormon is the keystone to our religion and the building block of my testimony and the reason that I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I am a missionary in the Little Saigon area of California (Westminster/Garden Grove) serving the Vietnamese people. As a missionary, we put aside school, work, hobbies, etc. for 2 years to go out and help people to understand about the purpose of life, who their Father in Heaven is, and how they can return to live with him and their families after this life. We act as representatives of Jesus Christ and try to emulate his character. We try to serve the people around us as much as we can through things like English classes. Giving up my life to serve my God and fellowmen for these 2 years, learning the Vietnamese language, and being away from my family has been the biggest sacrifice I've ever made, but it is worth it because I know that the things we teach people are true and I need to share it with them.
