Hi I'm Emma

I was born in Arizona, and grew up in Colorado. I'm an identical twin, an avid reader, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love to sing, play piano, and bake. I also love to read (especially fantasy) and tap dance. While I enjoy playing volleyball, I can't claim to be any sort of volleyball expert. My favorite subjects in school include literacy, math and art. I love history, but don't particularly enjoy the class. I love the outdoors, and enjoy camping.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a full member family, and have continued on that path with a loving heart and a desire to serve. I love the gospel of Jesus Christ, and have a burning testimony. I know that my Heavenly Father lives, that Jesus Christ is my heavenly brother, and that he died, and was resurrected so that we could repent and be resurrected. I know that families are forever, when sealed in the temple, that we may live together again after we have all passed on. I love the Book of Mormon, and it is one of my favorite books to date. I know that all the events written in its precious pages are real, that they were written and preserved for our day. I know that we have a true and living prophet on the Earth today (President Thomas S. Monson), and that he leads and guides the Church with direct authority and revelation from God. I know that baptism by immersion is essential, that it is through this that our sins are washed away and we enter into His church. I know that Joseph Smith was the first prophet of God in these latter days, that he was personally visited by angels and Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. He did translate the Book of Mormon. I know the Bible to be the word of God, that its teachings are sweet and true, just as the Book of Mormon's are. My testimony is a huge part of who I am; it is the basis of my attitude, my thoughts, and my actions. I love the gospel of Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

In church, I am in the Young Women program, an inspired program for girls ages 12-18. I work with my peers, and try to be the best example that I can be to them by following the standards and guidelines set by the Church. Outside of church, I go to school, where I am a member of the National Junior Honor Society. I live the gospel by sticking to its standards. This means that I do not swear or talk about sacred things lightly. I try my best to be kind to everybody (even when it's hard). I dress modestly. I also try to share my beliefs with others not of my faith at school. This is often just by living by my standards.
