Hi I'm Becky

I live in Utah. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have grown up in Utah. I attended Utah Valley University and Brigham Young University. I work at a hospital in the center core area of the operating room. Some of my favorite activites are traveling, reading, scrapbooking and sewing. I love football and especially enjoy cheering on my BYU cougars each year!

Why I am a Mormon

I was born in to a family that were already members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. This has been such a blessing throughout my life. Even though I have been a member of the church my whole life there is still a point when one develops their own testimony of the truthfulness of it. One of my classes at BYU my freshman year was Book of Mormon. Since I was already a member I took the class pretty lightly. I had grown up with this book and it's teachings and didn't really think there was much to learn from it. Well, I didn't do as well in the beginning as I should have so when preparing for finals week I actually read my text book as well as the Book of Mormon. I had locked myself in a study room in the basement of the dorms and read for hours on end. What an amazing experience this was for me. The Spirit confirmed that what I had grown up with was the truth. No matter the trials and struggles of life I know this: I know that Jesus is the son of God and died for us. I know the Jesus was resurrected on the third day. Joseph Smith saw God our Heavenly Father and our brother Jesus Christ. Joseph Smith was given and translated the Golden Plates into the Book of Mormon. Joseph Smith was the first prophet of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and was given the keys to the priesthood in modern day. I know that the Book of Mormon is true and that it's teachings are inspired words of God. I know that Thomas S. Monson is a true Prophet of God just as in the ancient times. I also know that he receives revelation to lead and guide His church.

How I live my faith

In addition to attending regular church meetings on Sunday I also participate in other ways throughout the month. I, along with another friend of mine, visit a couple of other ladies each month in their homes. We get to share messages of Gospel topics as well as help them out with other needs. I also help plan monthly activities for the women on all kinds of things from gardening to scripture study. I am single but I still try to hold a Family Home Evening each week. Traditionally this is done on Monday nights and families learn different things each week.
