Hi I'm D'Angelo Blackhorse

I'm a convert, I love sports, I love music, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am currently a freshman in college working towards prerequisites to enter into Pharmacy school. I want to eventually become a Manager Pharmacist in a hospital and maybe even a researcher one day. I have a great family who support me constantly and many others who have deeply effected my life. I love to be active and play all types of sports from soccer to golf, basketball being my favorite and best sport. Music is defiantly a big part of my life, I always seems to be listening or singing a song. I love the church and all the great lessons and blessings that it has generated in my life.

Why I am a Mormon

Growing up my family and I never attended any type of church or talked about religion. When i was 13 a good friend of mine invited me to attend church with him, after I asked where he went every Sunday morning. After attending church I didn't understand a whole lot, but I knew what i felt that day was good. Soon after, the missionaires began to come over and teach me about the church and the gospel principals. Growing up we didn't have the ideal, nor perfect family. With many complications growing up I loved the idea that the gospel, or teaching of the church, could bring peace and happiness to my family. Along with the loss of my father at a young age, i was taught that families can be together forever, even after death. I know that families can be together forever and I have prayed and now know that these teachings are true. I know that the Gospel of Jesus Christ is true. That we can live as together forever as families and that our Heavenly Father has given us everything that we need on earth to be completely happy. I know these truths because I read the Book of Mormon and prayed to know if it was true. I have read the Book of Mormon many times in my life and every time i concluded it, an overwhelming feeling lets me know without a doubt that it is true. I love my Savior and I love His teachings that have and will continue to give my guidance in my daily life.

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith by being an example. One of the greatest and happiest times of my life was the chance that I had to be a missionary myself. I was able to travel to South America to teach and help people understand the blessings of the gospel. I believe that service is one of the greatest attributes that the Savior lived and I try to live myself. In the future I hope to get married in the temple and raise a family. One of my biggest goals in my life is to be a good father and husband. The teachings of Jesus Christ are very special to me and I hope to continue to live and grow in the gospel with my family.

What blessings can you receive from reading the Book of Mormon, the Bible, and other scriptures?

D'Angelo Blackhorse
We believe that God is a loving Heavenly Father for the whole earth and he loves his children equally. That the Bible is God's dealing with the people in ancient Israel and that the Book of Mormon are His dealing with the ancient civilizations on the American Continent. Christ said while talking to the Jews of Israel, "Other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd" (John 10:16). The Book of Mormon sole purpose, as stated in the title page, is to merely remind His children of His great promises and to convince all mankind that Jesus is the Christ. (Title page of the Book of Mormon). The Book of Mormon along with the Bible are powerful tools that can be used to understand the Saviors mission on earth and gain a personal witness the Jesus was the Christ. As we pray and fast we can come to the knowledge that these are true by the power of the Holy Ghost. The Holy Ghost will communicate and reveal to us in a personal manner that only we will know.
