Hi I'm Bart Farnsworth

I am a public school teacher. I teach World Geography. I grew up in Utah as a church member. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My family have been members of the LDS church for generations. All eight of my great-grandparents or their parents were pioneers that crossed the plains to Utah before the comming of the railroad. I grew up in a small Utah town. I am sixth of eight children. I served an LDS mission to Montreal, Canada and later graduated from BYU, and completed a Masters Degree at Utah State University, I am a public school teacher. I am married and have four children. My children are all now married. I love music and love to sing. I read a lot. When I was younger I spent a lot of time in the outdoors camping, fishing and hunting.

Why I am a Mormon

Although my family members have been LDS for generations, everyone one of us need to have a personal conversion to the gospel of Jesus Christ and the chruch. I was lucky enough to have parents who have served the Lord all their lives. Thy taught me the meaning of work as well as the spiritual side of life. In my youth I saw the power of prayer and scripture study. I saw what a family could be as we worked together to meet the necessities of life. As I served a mission in Montreal, Canada, I saw what the gospel can do for other people. I say lives change and families grow closer together. As I returned home to my studies at BYU and got married myself, I chose to me married in the Salt Lake Temple. My wife an I are still married after 35 years. Life has not always been easy and we have had our share of problems, but the gospel of Jesus Christ has been our foundation all the way. We have met our challenges relying on the Lord and trying to follow his teachings. We have been greatly blessed. Like all mortals we all make mistakes. Throught the atonement of Jesus Christ we have been able to work together in tring to improve our lives. I know that this is God's true chruch on earth. Joseph Smith was and is a Prophet of God who translated the Book of Mormon and restored the Chruch of Jesus Christ to the earth. The Church is led by living prophets today. I know this because the Holy Ghost has witnessed this to me too many times to count. I have seen the Lord's hand in my own life and the life of my family members. I sincerely ask you to find out for yourself. You will never regret the decision to do so.

How I live my faith

I strive to live my faith by preparing myself daily through scripture study and prayer. My owp personal goal for years has been to read the Book of Mormon at least two times a year. This year my personal goal it to read it every month. As I read, I ponder and pray about it and try and see what I need to do differently in my life to be a better servent of Jesus Christ. For the past thirteen years I have had very busy Sundays. My meetings usually start about 7:00 AM., and I am in meetings or service to others until 4:00 or 5:00 PM. I am often asked if I enjoy all the meetings. My honest answers is "most of the time". I love to attend my Sabath day meetings because of the feelings I get of my Savior Jesus Christ. I love to hear and teach of Him. I love to share with others what He can do for each one of us personally. In my current leadership positon in our local congregation I have the responsibility to work with the children and the youth. I love to see how the Gospel of Jesus Christ blesses their lives. I love to see them grow and progress. I love to share my own personal testimony of our Savior and what He can do for each of them in their own life. I strive on a daily bases to become a true deciple of Jesus Christ. Sometimes I do not succeed. With His help, and daily striving, I know that someday I will reach that goal.
