Hi I'm Amy

I'm a wife, I'm a mother. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm the oldest of 6 kids, with 1 sister and 4 not so little brothers. I've lived in Tennessee, Utah, Illinois, Virginia, and now South Carolina. I love reading, singing, music, camping, hiking, and anything to do with mountains. I love the Rockies, but have come to appreciate the ancient wisdom of the Appalachians as well. I met this guy in college who turned out to be the man of my dreams and we were married in 2003. The best thing about being married to my best friend is all the time we spend laughing together. Shortly after our 1st wedding Anniversary, we welcomed our first child and we liked him so much we decided to have more. I am the mother to 4 very young and very beautiful children. My house is loud, and messy. My kids are loud and sticky. My husband is loud and funny. And I am sleep deprived and slightly deaf. And most of the time I love it. I love watching my children love each other. I love the funny things they say. I love the predicaments they get themselves into. I love their silly facial expressions. And I love to hear them sing. I love hearing them laugh. And I love watching their faces when they see something exciting and new. I love it when they smile even with tears still on their cheeks. I love it when I find them asleep on the chair with their dad. And I love the way they think I can do anything just because I'm mom. I like lots of things, but I love my family best.

Why I am a Mormon

Being a member of this church has blessed my life in many ways. One of those is that I have always known who I am. I am a child of God. He knows me and loves me. He knows what I can do, even when I think I can't. He sent his Son to show me the way. The church has always brought me closer to my Savior. My Savior has answered my prayers. He has sent people into my life who have blessed me. He has given us Scriptures and a living Prophet to show the way to happiness and peace and as I have followed them I have found both.

How I live my faith

I regularly work with the children ages 18months to 11 years old. I teach them about Jesus Christ and the scriptures. We learn songs and stories that teach them the principles they need to choose the right in a confusing world. I hope they understand that they are children of God and that Jesus Christ knows them and loves them and will answer their prayers. Their faith and desire to do what is right is an example to me of how to trust in Christ, and let him bless me.
