Hi I'm Kayla

I’m 19 years old, and I will be serving my mission in Chile. I love this gospel more than anything, and can’t wait to share it!

About Me

I will go back to be a Junior in college in Utah after my mission and although I’m currently studying Exercise and Wellness, I hope to change to study Family Life with an emphasis on Human Development! I've loved my experience in college so far and am very excited to go back in the most wonderful environment to study what’s most important to me aside from the gospel, which is family. I’ve enjoyed singing and playing the piano very much throughout my life as well as the good company of loving friends to have adventures with; hiking, swimming, camping, or just talking, I’ve been very blessed to have such good influences to lift me up and enjoy life with. I hope to continue to live as close to the Savior as I can in order to recognize his tender mercies as I have been seeing constantly.

Why I am a Mormon

The knowledge that I have purpose here on earth, that I’m a daughter of God, that it’s okay that I’m not perfect if I keep trying my best, that this life isn’t the end, that God is in charge and we can communicate with him and feel his spirit if we strive for it... that we can live with PEACE! “Be still, and know that I am God.” I love that along with many many more things the gospel of Jesus Christ has to offer. Everything has always and will always work out for me if I do all that the Lord has asked of me. He never breaks his promises.

How I live my faith

I’ve as counselors and presidents in the Young Women program growing up, and got to help plan activities and minister to the girls as best I could while keeping their needs and interests in mind. I wouldn’t trade those years of girls camp, sunday school lessons, laughs/tears/smiles/hugs, youth group activities, or testimony meetings for any other way to grow up. It definitely prepared me to be where I am now. Up at college I had the opportunity to help organize visits to each member of the women’s group, serve as an activity photographer catching sweet moments of our congregation’s activities, work with teaching the members about family history, and got to be in charge of communication for the congregation about planned activities and fun! Ever since I started the more pressured years of middle school, I’ve strived to be an example of Christ, and although I’m nowhere near perfect as He is, I know it’s influenced the course of everything- my weekends, my morals, the college I decided to go to, my friendships, my home life, what I’m deciding to do for the next year and a half... it’s all provided stability and most importantly it’s made me truly happy.
