Hi I'm Georgena

I'm a college student. I love learning languages. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born and raised in Dallas, Texas. I am the youngest of 5 children. I love studying languages and I have many dreams for my future. I'm a junior in college and I'm studying linguistics. My dream job is to do field work and document endangered languages to preserve minority languages and cultures. I also look forward to being a mom and hope to be a super awesome one. I like to run and I play the violin and mandolin. In my free time I like to make music or try to learn something new either from my peers or just by teaching myself.

Why I am a Mormon

Ever since I was little I've attended the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. However, I have now found my own testimony and have experienced my own personal conversion. My belief is more than just tradition. I have a testimony and great love for the Book of Mormon. I have read it, studied it, and prayed about it and know it is true. Most of all, I have received a personal confirmation that God lives and loves and knows me personally. He has confirmed to me that He is pleased with my choices to follow Him by abiding by and living the teachings of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I have faith in God, and so I am a Mormon. I know nothing else on this earth could bring me greater lasting peace and happiness.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to please God in all of my actions and words. Of course, I often fail in this effort but I find the greatest peace and happiness in my life with this kind of the focus of my life. Furthermore, I can help others best by living with this frame of mind.

Do Mormons only help Mormons?

Georgena
I lived in a city where there are not many Mormons. At my high school there were only about 5 other Mormons out of the 2,100 students. This gave me many opportunities to help and support people who are not Mormon. In fact, my best friends weren't Mormon and I absolutely love them. Religion is not something that gets in the way of friendships and service to others. Show more Show less
