Hi I'm Amanda

I'm a Texan. I'm a lover of all things music. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Like I said before, I am a lover of all things that have to do with music. I play the piano, flute, and love to sing. I write the occasional sappy love song, cliche lyrics included. I am concluding my freshman year in college and I absolutely LOVED it! I am a pre-nursing major and hope to get into the program. It is my hope that if I get in, I can gain some experience and training so I can do humanitarian work in third world countries. I have 3 siblings and although we argue sometimes, my family is the most important thing to me.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents joined the church when I was 4 years old. I still remember the peace I felt as I was sealed to them in the temple. For a little while, relying on their testimony was enough. However, when I turned 8 years old and the time came for my baptism, I had to know if being a member of the Mormon church was what I really wanted. I have never regretted my decision. Being a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints brings me peace and understanding, and I can't imagine my life without it. I know that by following the teachings found in the Book of Mormon, I can draw closer to Jesus Christ and return to my Heavenly Father some day.

How I live my faith

Before college, I was president of the girls in my youth group. I absolutely loved connecting with each one of them on an individual level, attending planned weekly activities, and sharing my beliefs with them. During my freshman year, I was asked to do the same thing except with 53 girls. To say I was overwhelmed would be an understatement. However, I was only asked to do what my leaders knew I could handle and I enjoyed teaching lessons, visiting and chatting with girls, and testifying of what I know to be true.
