Hi I'm Luis Mateos

I'm a Mormon. I've been a member for over 20 years. I am the only member on my side of my family.

About Me

I am a father of three beautiful kids. I am Mexican born, raised in Southwest Texas. My wife is White and raised in the church all her life. I like to draw and lately I have been drawn to working on Search Word puzzles. I ride public transportation every day to work.

Why I am a Mormon

I have a strong testimony of Prayer. I believe that when you pray with all your heart and mind, your prayers will be answered in due time. I know that we came to this earth for a very specific reason...to return to our Heavenly Father. I know that God loves us so much that He wouldn't just "drop" us off here on this earth for us to grow old and die. I know He loves us so much that He wants to return back to him.

How I live my faith

I go to church every Sunday because I feel that I need to feel closer to my Savior. For me it's not enough to just pray at home. It's about uniting with others of my faith and believes and feeling the Spirit every week.

What do Mormons believe is the purpose of life?

Luis Mateos
To me the purpose of life as a "Mormon" is to live as righteous as I can. Yes, I'm human and I will make mistakes. I will lose my temper, I will have bad days. I will have family issues, work issues, challenges, temptations. But I know that I want to return to our Heavenly Father some day. Think of it this way. When you send your kids, newphews, godchildren, etc., to school you want them to return. You want them to leave all the temptations alone. You don't want them to be smoking or drinking. You want successful in life. You don't just send them to school and forget about them. You love your kids and you want the best for them. I believe God loves us so much that He died for us and He wants us to return to Him. Show more Show less
