Hi I'm Amanda

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am currently a working wife and mom of three handsome sons. I am the only female, both in my personal life and in my work trade. Being around so many men on a regular basis, has given me a new appreciation for the priesthood and the amazing blessings Heavenly Father has given us through the men in our church!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon for many reasons. First and foremost, I am a follower of our Savior Jesus Christ. I believe in His gospel and the amazing blessings having it in my life can bring to my family for ETERNITY! I was not really taught of the Savior growing up, I simply knew He was there. I spent some time in Foster Care as a small child and was in some no-so-pleasant homes. Even through the abuse and neglect at times, I was always comforted by the Spirit in knowing I was NOT alone. I made covenants with the Lord at four years old, pleading with him to take me from my current situation, and I promised Him I would try my hardest to be a "good girl". The very next day He sent a social worker to my rescue and sent me to a new foster home, with a wonderfully loving and compassionate woman as the matriarch. Her children were investigating The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and would often take me to church with them. I went to my first Daddy/Daughter dance in the ward we lived in and found out that not all men were bad people. I learned there are LOTS of good and wonderful people in this world, you just have to find them and surround yourself with them. Yes, bad things happen in this world, but if you truly KNOW in your heart that there is something bigger and better on the other side of the vail, you will find comfort and peace of mind. Your days will be more appreciated here on this earth and you will love those around you more and accept the things you can not change in them. The Lord has continued to bless me throughout my life. He sent me a kind and compassionate man who loves me so much, even though I have been "broken". Then after showing me I can love and be loved, He sent me three of the most beautiful creatures he had, our sons. Being a parent is the best and most honorable gift Heavenly Father can give us. He entrusts me to show these young men the way, and to help them cling tight to the rod. There is NO greater responsibility as a parent.

How I live my faith

I am NOT a perfect person by any means, but I know that if I work hard, make good choices, and smile as often as possible, I can leave the world a little bit better at the end of my day. I am a teacher for the children in our Sunday School program in our church. This is the greatest calling for me at this time in my life! I get to learn the scriptures and then tell the children what I have learned about our Savior! I get to enlighten them to the true teachings of our Savior and his journey through life. What an amazing blessing!

Why don’t women hold the priesthood in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints? How do Mormon women lead in the Church?

Amanda
In my profession, I am the ONLY woman. I work hard and know that I am a very important part of my company, but that doesn't hinder my thoughts of the Priesthood one bit. I am proud to support my husband and sons. I don't need the glory. The glory is ALL the Lord's anyways, we are just His humble servants. If you are good at something and have special talents, it is your responsibility to use them to serve the Lord. Afterall, isn't that why He gave them to you? Women are just as important without holding the Priesthood in the Savior's eyes. Show more Show less
