Hi I'm Brandon A Wilson

I'm Brandon Wilson, I am currently serving in the Tacloban, Philippines Mission, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Hey there! My name is Brandon. Currently I am on a Mission for the Church, called to the Philippines. For the next two years I will be doing this. When I get back, I will be studying to obtain my MBA. I love playing sports, doing anything outdoors, and love new technology. I currently work with Samsung phones, and am about to leave the country for the First time in my Life! I love playing volleyball, American Football, or Ultimate Frisbee!

Why I am a Mormon

Being raised in the church, i have been a member my whole life. The only thing is, i chose to stay a member. When i started in my teenage years, i wanted to see how following the commandments would assist me in my life. To say the least, my life has been greatly blessed. I have seen friends in my school have problems that could have had assistance through the Lord. " I will go and do the things which the Lord hath commanded, for I know that the Lord giveth no commandments unto the children of men, save he shall prepare a way for them that they may accomplish the thing which he commandeth them." (1st nephi 3:7). Finally, I decided to fully become a Mormon after a example that my stake (a combination of congregations in a area) gave to the lds boys in our area; to go, with a missionary, to teach the gospel. They started this when i was 15 years old. All the way through our meeting, i felt the spirit so strongly, that i knew that the gospel was true. Being a Young Single Adult, I am still posed the question: Why are you a Mormon. Simply enough, the reason I continue on this path is because it allows me to grow closer to Jesus Christ, while providing me with the greatest happiness I have ever felt. This closeness that I have grown to love has fueled my desire to go and Serve the Lord, and bring others to learn of Christ. One of the main reasons I love being a Mormon is that this church gives me a opportunity to practice Christianity, not just profess to believe it. A lot of the things that Christ taught and lived are practiced in a daily life of a member. I am able to serve my fellow men nearly every day and answer the question, "What would Jesus Do". This short question is responded by my sincere desire to serve, and assist those that are in need.

How I live my faith

At home, being a college student, while working full time, I am provided with ample opportunities to discuss my religion with my fellow peers. I attend a Young Single Adult ward every Sunday, in which I worship God with those who are unmarried, aged 18-30. I am currently a member of the Institute committee, in which we plan activities, bring food, and overall try to make it a more enjoyable experience. Institute is a place where we go to learn more about Christ and his Gospel through study and learning. Currently, I have the opportunity to live my faith daily due to the nature of my calling. I am able to serve my fellow brothers and sisters and help them come unto Christ.
