Hi I'm Courtney V. Nield

I was born and raised in Lewisville, Idaho. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My name is Courtney and I am from the great state of Idaho despite the random weather changes! I am 20 years old and am very active. My hobbies include playing basketball and volleyball, being outdoors, shopping, camping, and recently skiing/snowboarding. After High School, I had the opportunity to play college basketball in Washington at Big Bend Community College (2011-2012). This experience will always be one that I will reflect on because I learned many life lessons that have shaped me into the person I am today. I have been attending BYU-Idaho to further my education in the medical field. I love my family and couldn't have asked for a better one! They are such a great support to me and am grateful for them.

Why I am a Mormon

I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the one only true church on the earth this day. I have read the Book of Mormon and I know without a doubt that it is true and has answers for the questions I might have. I am so thankful that Joseph Smith had the courage to kneel in the Sacred Grove and ask Heavenly Father which church was the true church. I am thankful he did that because he restored the church back onto this earth again and being worthy to restore the keys of the Priesthood. I know that the power of the Priesthood is real and I have seen it in my life through the blessings I have had in my life. I am thankful for the trials I have had in my life because it has made me come closer to my Father in Heaven and to my older brother Jesus Christ who sacrificed himself to atone for my sins. I have learned so many things through my trials especially by having a tumor in my leg when I was a baby. I know that there is a plan for me and I know I am supposed to be here on the earth right now because there is a purpose for me here. Always remember that he will never leave you alone even though sometimes you might think he does, but he doesn't! He loves each and everyone of us and wants us to return back to him! I know that his arms are stretch out to us waiting for us to return back to him. I know that the power of prayer is real and that prayers are answered! Sometimes it takes longer to receive an answer, but I know that things happen for a reason and to never lose hope because something better is on its way. I know families can be together forever and the importance of the temple. I don't know where I would be if I didn't have the gospel in my life because it brings so much hope into my life and comfort to know that everything will be just fine by having faith! I know how much this gospel has changed my life for the better and I know that it will change many other lives. I love this gospel! I say these things in the name of Jesus Christ amen.

How I live my faith

I absolutely love this gospel! It has been a blessing in my life to have parents that were born and raised in this gospel to teach me the right and true ways of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I have had many callings and have learned the importance of them whether it was Family Home Evening, Visiting Teaching, or being the President of the Laurels in Young Women's. They have all taught me many valuable lessons and has strengthened my testimony that this is the true church.

Why do Mormons perform proxy baptisms in their temples?

Courtney V. Nield
I have such a strong testimony of temple work and attending regularly. I have been going to the temple every week to perform baptisms because I know how important it is to me be clean from the sins/mistakes I have made and to know that my older brother, Jesus Christ, took upon my sins so I could return back to my heavenly home someday. By having this opportunity to do the work for those who have passed on can feel that happiness and joy of being clean from the sins they have made. Show more Show less
