Hi I'm JoAnn

I am a "Florida Cracker." I'm happily married and we have three wonderful children. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born and raised in Florida. I grew up in a family with 5 sisters (6 of us total) and no brothers. (What are the odds, right?) Life was not easy, but I always felt the love of my Heavenly Father. I knew he loved me and watched over me. When I was 24, my husband and I met and 6 months later we got married. We are partners in our own business and love the freedom that brings to our family. My husband and I are the proud parents of three of the CUTEST, funnies, best dancing, kids we've ever met. (Hey, if you can't be bias about your own kids, who can you be bias about?)

Why I am a Mormon

I was born to parents who were already members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. However, everyone has to gain their own testimony at some point. My conversion started around the age of 14. One day, the thought came to me, "What if I'm in the wrong church? What if ALL THIS TIME I've been going to a church that isn't true?" I decided to pray about it. I prayed for what seems like months. (Teenagers are dramatic like that.) It was probably more like days or weeks. I didn't feel like I was getting an answer. I was frustrated. So one night, I decided to pray and stay on my knees praying until I got an answer. (I was pretty determined.) Again, it seemed like I had been kneeling FOREVER, but it was more like 30-45 minutes. I was getting pretty discouraged and I didn't know what to do. I began to cry. Then, I felt a calm, warm feeling all over my body. In my mind/heart, I felt someone say, "You've always known this church is true. You're in the right place." I've been "gung-ho" ever sense. If this is the true church - which I know it is - then I want to be a good player on this team.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by following the commandments as set forth by our Prophet. I serve in the church when asked. We sing hymns as a family and look for opportunities to serve those around us - including each other. I live the word of wisdom. All of these things help me become the best version of myself and help me become more like my Savior. Currently, I serve in Primary - the organization for children 18-months to 11 years old. It's a challenge sometimes but it's also rewarding. I look at those sweet children and see how our Father in Heaven loves them. They want so much to make good choices. Watching their eagerness to follow the Savior reminds me of how much I want to follow him too! I am so grateful for their example in my life.
