Hi I'm Collin Hicken

I'm a Mormon. I grew up in the wasatch mountains in Utah. I am a gear head and riding fast dirt bikes!

About Me

I grew up working on the family farm. I will forever be thankful for learning to work hard physically and mentally. I enjoy working on things that make horse power and torque; motorcycles, fourwheelers, cars, trucks, tractors, etc.. I enjoy going fast in almost any form. I was raised and taught the truth and had LDS parents and sibblings who were and are great examples to me. I left the church at a young age when I was able to make decisions on my own. The choice to not follow the teachings of the church led me down a fast and rough path in my life. At a point in my life where I really needed direction, I decided I would take the chance and find out for myself what the LDS church was all about. In moments of discouragement and darkness, I found great strength in the words of the prophets found in the Book of Mormon. I came to a knowledge that the Book of Mormon is true in a manner of sincere prayer. From that point, I decided to try and prove the teachings in the church for myself. As I honestly tested the promised blessings of living the True Gospel of Jesus Christ I was unable to prove the Lord wrong and I am now serving a mission in the Kentucky Louisville Mission. I found out the hard way that this is the true church of Jesus Christ and that his authority was restored through a Latter Day prophet and I Know without a shadow of a doubt that the Book of Mormon is true and has changed and blessed my life in ways I never imagined. I am eternally grateful for this knowledge.

Why I am a Mormon

I found that if we will just listen to the Gospel as taught by the faithfull followers of Christ, a light will enter into our lives that cannot be darkened. If we will do as the our Heavenly Father says, "Prove me herewith", he will show all who will sincerely ask that the True Church of Jesus Christ has been restored. As I slowly, sincerely, and honestly tried to impliment the teachings from the Book of Mormon and Bible in my life, I found that Christ was changing me and bettering me from the inside out. Though it was a long rough road for me to come to a knowledge of the truth, I am grateful for the trials that I faced. In the last chapter of the Book of Mormon, Moroni encourages readers to sincerely read and pray to know that the book is true. If you do as Moroni asks, I promise that God will answer. You will come to a knowledge that Jospeh Smith could not nor would not have been able to translate such a book without the direct guidance and gift from God! By living the commandments taught by present day prophets and apostles, I have found the peace that comes from knowing that this life is a test of faith in which our loving Heavenly Father has given us the Bible and Book of Mormon and Holy Prophets throughout the ages to ensure our safe return home to him. Christ's True church and authority has been restored to the earth and has blessed my life in unimaginable ways and continues do to so. Try it!

How I live my faith

I was blessed to be able to participate in many service projects in congregation which I attended. I am currently serving a 2 year full time mission in the Great Kentucky Louisville Mission. In my service so far, I have been greatly blessed to see the Gospel of Jesus Christ take effect in the lives of those who will humble themselves and sincerely investigate the truth. We participate in weekly service activities in the communities we serve in. We find joy in serving individuals who will call on us in times of need. Daily we are in towns and homes trying to share the message that has blesssed millions of peoples lives. We teach people of many ages and races. We are searching for sincere seekers of truth and service opportunities where ever we may find them. It is likely that you have seen a missionary like myself in your town or we have knocked on your door. We have been over whelmed with joy from the knowledge of the gospel that we carry and we wish to share it with all. I am far from perfect! We all fall short each day. As a missionary my knowledge of the sacrifice that Jesus Christ made for us grows continually. It is because of his sacrifice that we are able to be forgiven and continue to try and improve our lives and the lives of those we come in contact with. If you see a missionary near you, watch them. Ask them about Christ. Ask them for help. Talk to them for a few minutes even. You will see how we live our faith!!!
