Hi I'm Lei Fu

I grew up in Mainland China . I 'm currently serving as a missionary in the Oakland/San Francisco Mission. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born in China. I 'm the only child in my family. I have lovely parents who are members of the church. I like to go hiking.

Why I am a Mormon

When I studied in the university, I felt confused about whats the purpose of my life. In mainland China, almost 30 percent of high school students can go to undergraduate university. So every student has to focus on studying because of the intense competition. In middle school, my purpose was going to a good high school. In high school, my purpose was going to a good university. But when I entered the university, I asked myself what is the purpose of my life? I couldn't find it until my mother gave me a Book of Mormon. When I go to church, I can feel peace and joy. And I know that I should follow the example of Jesus Christ. As we obey the commandments, we won't lose ourselves. We can return to Heavenly Father's presence.

How I live my faith

I pray everyday, read the scriptures and follow the example of JESUS CHRIST. I try my best to be a good example for people around me.

What is done with the tithing that Mormons pay?

Lei Fu
Official Church Answer The principle of tithing, or voluntarily giving one tenth of one’s income to God’s work, has been known since Old Testament times. Abraham paid tithes to Melchizedek (Genesis 14:17-20). The law of tithing is how the Lord funds His Church. Today all faithful members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints contribute one tenth of their income as tithing. Tithing funds are used for: ■Constructing temples, chapels, and other buildings. ■Providing operating funds for the Church. ■Funding the missionary program (This does not include individual missionary expenses.) ■Preparing materials used in Church classes and organizations. ■Temple work, family history, and many other important Church functions. ■Education. When the Lord reminded His people of this law through the prophet Malachi in the Old Testament, He promised to bless those who were willing to pay an honest tithe (Malachi 3:10). Show more Show less
