Hi I'm Ashley

Smiling and laughing are two of my favorite hobbies. I'm a wife. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I just graduated from Utah State University in Human Resource Management. I returned in 2012 from doing missionary work in Texas and Brazil. What an adventure! I love learning about other cultures, beliefs, and ways of life. When I was single, I enjoyed reading chapter books with my little brother every night and jumping on the trampoline with my younger siblings. Of course, this was before I married my best friend! Now he and I thoroughly enjoy doing things together, like washing the dishes, making dinner, shopping for our home, and going to Lowe's. Building family relationships is really important!

Why I am a Mormon

Many times people look at a religion and judge it by what they've heard about it rather than finding out for themselves what people of that religion believe and why. If you want to know what members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints believe, talk to one of the members. Then ask God if what she or he said is from Him. Although I was raised as a member, I had to find out for myself if what my parents were teaching me about religion was right. My answer came through reading and praying about the truthfulness of the Book of Mormon and Joseph Smith, who translated it. It also came through attending church every Sunday to learn more. If you haven't received an answer yet to know that the Book of Mormon is true, I invite you to kneel down today, after having read part of it, and ask God if this is the right path. I know He will answer. He answered me, and He doesn't lie. What He says is true is true. I know the Book of Mormon is the word of God. This is the same Church that Christ organized when He lived on the earth. He called a living prophet and apostles today to guide us on the path back to Him.

How I live my faith

I love telling everyone about what I believe! That's why when I'm on a bus, checking out at the grocery store, going for a jog in my neighborhood, or talking with classmates, I often bring up the thing that makes me the happiest - the gospel of Jesus Christ! I want people to know about Christ, that He lives, that He loves us! Each day I strive to do what He would do by serving someone. This may be smiling, cleaning the bathroom for my husband, playing with my siblings to strengthen our relationship, or writing a quick note to a friend.

Who wrote the Book of Mormon?

The Book of Mormon was written by ancient prophets who lived on the American continent. One of the prophets in the Book of Mormon, named Lehi, was commanded by God to leave Jerusalem and come to the American continent. The prophets after him continued to write about Jesus Christ and His gospel. The writings of these prophets together make up the Book of Mormon. This book testifies of Christ. Those who truly want to know if it is the word of God should read and pray about it and ask God directly. He promises He will answer through the Holy Ghost. (Moroni 10:4) Show more Show less
