Hi I'm Reuben

I was born and raised in the Philippines. The oldest of four boys in my family. I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I'm the eldest of four children. I grew up in the busy city of Manila where people are always in a rush. I spend three years of college at University of Santo Tomas studying BS Medical Technology. I also serve as one of the representatives of Jesus Christ in Las Vegas, Nevada (2011-2013). My mission helped me to intensify my testimony about the Atonement of my Savior.

Why I am a Mormon

I love living the Gospel in my life. It brought so much happiness to me and to my family. I grew up as Mormon, but I didn't really have a testimony since the beginning of my youth. I challenged myself to read the Book of Mormon and ask God if it is true. I received an answer, and I came to know that the promise blessing in Moroni 10:5 is true "And by the power of the Holy Ghost ye may know the truth of all things...". Through constant scripture study, praying for guidance, and renewing my covenant every week by going to church- I've been able to endure some of the trials in my life, & strengthen my faith.

How I live my faith

Knowing that I have a great responsibility as a son of God, I'm always striving to live the gospel the best way that I could. I think that by living a high standard is one of the great blessings that I received as a Mormon. Yes, I know it's hard to live the gospel, but it's the only way that we could be on the right path- to return back on our Heavenly Father's presence. In my youth I began to love attending church activities. Those activities have helped me to become a better brother, a son and a disciple of Jesus Christ. Some of those activities have helped me enhance the talents that I have. Such talents have helped me to decide on what major should I take in college. I know that if we lived happily in enduring our mortal life, glory will be added upon our heads.

What is faith?

As a person that has been raised in the Church I was taught in my early age that faith is one of the first principles of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. It is for me the fundamental principle that I must have that helps me to hope for things that I don’t see, which are true, and will be true if centered to Jesus Christ. It is the principle that helps our eternal conversion to the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Faith in Jesus Christ is important, it will lead us to know on how we could become a better disciples of Him. If faith is constantly exercise, or nourished; through scripture study, prayer, and acting from promptings that we received from the Holy Ghost, we will then have a better desire, and appreciation to know our Heavenly Father’s plan for us. Thus, our act of faith in Him will help us to gain His greatest promise to us, which is life eternal. Show more Show less
