Hi I'm Jeff

I'm a computer science graduate, long time techie, and budding photographer. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a father of 3 and a husband of 14 years. I love watching sports, mostly basketball with a lot of football. I play basketball at least once a week for exercise and fun. I also run a 5K about 3 times a week trying to maintain a healthy lifestyle. My day job deals with technology, but I love nearly all aspect of technology as well. I have been reading about, troubleshooting, building, programming, and using computers since I was 8 years old. I have recently become very interested in photography, learning as much as I can about it on my own but would love to go on a vacation where we visit interesting places and take awesome pictures.

Why I am a Mormon

Although I was born here in the beautiful Salt Lake valley, my membership in the church is not simply something that has been passed down from generation to generation. If I didn't know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints was the true and living church on the Earth today there is not way I would be an active member. Being an active member of this church would not be worth it to me if I didn't know that it is indeed what it claims to be - the true and living church led be Jesus Christ today. I love my life. I have been blessed with a wonderful family. A wife with whom I am a full partner as we rear our children and work through the challenges that come to our family. It is our families that bring true happiness in this life, and I will be forever grateful that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints has given me a knowledge of the Gospel of Jesus Christ to help me understand that. I am a Mormon because it makes me a better man, husband, and father. I am a Mormon because I have seen living the principles of the Gospel of Jesus Christ bring so much joy into my life.

How I live my faith

It isn't easy to be an active member of the Church of Jesus-Christ of Latter-Day Saints. It involves a lot of work and dedication. Not only are there 3 hours worth of worship meetings every Sunday, but I spend a number of hours each week serving in various ways. I choose to donate a portion of my time and energy to serving in the church because it is rewarding and because I know that it is what the Lord has commanded me to do. For most of the past 14 years I have worked with the youth in my area. I have been a scout leader, but importantly I have been able to work with teenagers that need positive influences in their lives with so many negative influences constantly bombarding them. There are so many great young people of the world today, it is such a joy to work with them as they go through those formidable years when they are defining who it is they want to be. It doesn't get much better than to have a youth I worked with make the decision to follow the example of Jesus Christ and pattern their life after Him. My own children are young and still rely on me and my wife a lot in order to establish their own identities, but they are growing up rapidly and I hope my own example will help them to decide they to want to follow the path the Savior provided for us.
