Hi I'm Rick

I grew up in Ft. Union, Utah. I'm a ham radio enthusiast, I like star trek, I especially love my family, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I like reading western novels and science textbooks. I like watching Star Trek re-runs and eating popcorn with my sons on Friday nights. I enjoy watching family friendly classics, (like Rogers and Hammerstein) and I also like watching science and history related educational shows. I like watching old TV westerns like Gunsmoke and Bonanza. I am an active extra class licensed ham radio operator and like taking my radio equipment to the mountains for long range conversions with other radio enthusiasts. I am an electrical engineer and enjoy tinkering in the garage on projects. I like working around the house and building gadgets. I enjoy cooking. I enjoy traveling, especially to visit historical sites. Above all, I enjoy spending time doing all these things with my immediate and extended family.

Why I am a Mormon

I have a burning testimony of the divinity of our Savior Jesus Christ. I have read the Book of Mormon many times and each time receive a strong confirmation that it is true. I love the organization of the church in that it is the same as the original church Christ established during His mortal ministry. I believe my Heavenly Father loves me and gives me direction though personal revelation, spiritual guidance and through his living prophets. I am also grateful for the power of the restored priesthood and the countless blessings my family has enjoyed because of priesthood service and blessings. I have a strong testimony of the plan of salvation and am very grateful that I can be with my family as a family throughout the eternities.

How I live my faith

I center my life first around my Father in Heaven and His son Jesus Christ, then around my family. These bring me the greatest joy. I strive to live the teachings of my Savior daily. To know those teaching I read the scriptures daily. I keep the line of communication with my Father in Heaven open through prayer daily and in return He guides me through personal inspiration and spiritual guidance. Through striving to obey all the commandments. I strive to be a good example of a Christ-Like individual to my children and others. I volunteer with the Boy-Scouts and very much enjoy sharing in their joys of accomplishment and rank advancements. There are many who live near me who are elderly and I enjoy serving them as well. I enjoy genealogy and family history research. I help others in my church find information about their ancestors.
