Hi I'm Joelene McCarthy

Yes, I'm a Mormon. And this defines much about me. Being a Mormon has always helped me on my path.

About Me

I guess you might say, "I'm in the twilight of my life". I'm a Grandma, a very important role. I know I can still teach and be an example to my family. I will soon be a full time missionary, and will wear a missionary badge, stating I represent my Savior, Jesus Christ. I know that my life has meaning, I can show love and compassion to all those I meet. I will do just that! My message will be that of my Savior's, sharing His love however I can.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because this is the best life I can have. The world, with it's many ups and downs, can and does take you down. Knowing I have the "safety net" of the gospel of Jesus Christ, provides the security for daily living.

How I live my faith

In my life, I have had leadership roles, (in the workplace and in serving within the Church), and these experiences have helped set a pattern for the way I choose to live. I know that from the time I wake until I close my eyes at night, my choices will determine my happiness. My Savior is my example, and I know that through Him I can have joy, and that through my joy and happiness I can spread my Savior's message. Not every day of my life is perfect. I, too, have challenges. But I am only a prayer away from relief, because I know and feel the love of my Heavenly Father, and that my Savior paid the ultimate price, providing opportunity to return to my heavenly home.

Do Mormons only help Mormons?

I have observed that when there are disasters in the world, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, is often one of those who respond first, in bringing food, medical supplies, clothing and other relief to the site. It makes no difference if the recipients are of other faiths. Show more Show less
