Hi I'm Nicole

I'm a writer. I'm an avid reader. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a small town girl. I was raised with four brothers in Northern Utah. I graduated from Utah State University with a degree in English. My biggest passion is writing. I love creating stories from a few simple words. My dream is to be a wife, a mother, and a novelist.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the LDS church and I was expected to go to church every Sunday. As a teenager, I relied on my parents' testimonies to keep me afloat. After I left for college, I kept going to church at first but then became, as I call it, "partially active". I would go for one meeting and then leave. I knew that I was missing out on blessings but I didn't have anything anchoring me to the gospel. With amazing friends and roommates as examples, I slowly started to change my life and get firmly back on the right path. This gospel is true. I have come to know of this with a certainty that cannot be denied. Jesus Christ died for me, for my sins and for my pains. He is here to help me carry this burden called mortality. I know Joseph Smith was a prophet of God who was sent here to restore the Gospel to its fulness. I know, without the Gospel, I would not be here. I am so grateful for wonderful parents who lived their lives the way they knew was right and then taught me the Gospel at home and took me to church so that I can know this is the truth. The Lord loves and blesses me. I am truly and eternally grateful to Him.

How I live my faith

I recently returned from serving a mission. Life has been an adjustment but I'm learning how to make sure the gospel is the most important thing. I make mistakes but I continually strive to do better by reading my scriptures, praying daily, and attending my church meetings. I'm far from perfect but I know that as I keep doing my best, I'll be able to return to live with my Father in Heaven again.

Who wrote the Book of Mormon?

The Book of Mormon is a volume of scripture that was written by Prophets just as the Bible was written by Prophets. The Book of Mormon testifies of Jesus Christ and is another witness of His Divinity. The books inside the Book of Mormon were compiled by a prophet and historian by the name of Mormon which is where the Book of Mormon gets it's name from. Show more Show less

Why do Mormon missionaries proselyte?

Why DON't Mormon missionaries proselyte?! We're here to give others the opportunity to hear this amazing message of the Restored Gospel of Jesus Christ. Sometimes a person doesn't know that they are looking for something until someone else shows it to them. The purpose of missionaries is to teach others, non members and those who are less active in the church, about the Gospel. It's an amazing experience to have and not every Mormon gets to have it. It's an opportunity for that person, that missionary, to serve Heavenly Father for 18 months or 2 years and focus solely on the Gospel. It's hard and exhausting but the blessings and miracles that come from it are so worth all that you have to sacrifice to share with others the joy that you receive from the Gospel. Show more Show less
