Hi I'm Elder Austin Taylor

I'm an amatuer bicycle mechanic, indie rock enthusiast, on a mission in Florida, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a musician and specialize in drum set. I am studying music at BYU. I love to cook and share good food with good people. I live a cyclist lifestyle and am trying to avoid having a car for the rest of my life. I am currently serving a mission in Fort Lauderdale, Florida speaking Spanish.

Why I am a Mormon

I have felt personal witness that the Book of Mormon and the Bible true and one can live in a blessed and happy state by obeying God's commands. Jesus Christ is the Holy Messiah. He love and knows each of us perfectly. His atonement is infinite. Joseph Smith brought back the Church of Jesus Christ and it continues to be led by him today through his prophet Thomas Monson.

How I live my faith

I am currently taking two years of my life, putting aside personal pursuits, to serve as a full-time missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. As said by LDS Apostle Dallin H. Oaks, “We do not preach and teach in order to ‘bring people into the Church’ or to increase the membership of the Church. We do not preach and teach just to persuade people to live better lives. We invite all to come unto Christ by repentance and #baptism and confirmation in order to open the doors of the celestial kingdom to the sons and daughters of God." I am working on being as humble and accepting as Christ was and see every person, no matter their lifestyle as a child of God with amazing potential. I hope to be able to help others live a happier life by coming closer to Christ and allowing him to lighten their load as they enter into the waters of #baptism. "Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest." -Matthew 11:28

How does the Church finance its operations?

Elder Austin Taylor
Each member willingly donates ten percent of their income to the church. This is how it finances construction of buildings and temples as well as humanitarian aid. Members are also invited to fast for two meals on the first Sunday of each month. Then we donate the money we would have spent on food to the church. Every single bit of this money goes directly to producing food to those who are in need within the church as well as outside of it. Show more Show less
