Hi I'm Marissa

I grew up in Utah. I studied Social Work. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I studied Social Work at Utah State University and would eventually like to use my degree by working in Orphanages in different countries. I worked in an orphanage in Ecuador for a summer a few years ago and I think about it all the time. I would be so happy to be able to find a home for all those little boys and girls! I have been married for over two years to my best friend who I met almost six years ago now. I love being married and am so excited to have my own family! I work on campus at Utah State and my favorite thing is meeting people from different places around the world. I love that everyone comes from different backgrounds but we are all so similar when it comes down to it.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because it brings peace and happiness to my life. I know that when I am living the gospel I can tell a difference and I feel the Spirit. I am happier and I like the person I am when I am doing the things the gospel teaches me and am trying to be like my Savior Jesus Christ. I love being a Mormon because it give me a sense of direction in my life. There are so many different influences in the world telling me what is important and what I should spend my time doing and what I should strive for. Sometimes I get confused and I don't know what I should do in my life or what decisions are correct. But the gospel bring simplicity to my life and I know the things that I should do to become the person my Heavenly Father wants me to be. I like the person I am becoming when I am doing the small and simple things taught in the gospel of Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by loving others. When I see others the way my Heavenly Father sees them- so pure and accepting, I know that I am living my faith. There are so many small things to do- read scriptures, say my prayers, attend church, service projects, etc. And although those are all ways that I live my faith, when it comes down to it the way I show my faith is through loving others unconditionally. It makes me a better person, more understanding and compassionate when I am not as quick to judge. It makes my world a better place when I see the good in people, they tend to return the favor.
