Hi I'm Clareese

I was raised in Portland, Oregon. I am currently serving a mission in Billings, Montana. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a single, 24-year old and I'm currently serving a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Montana. I love to sing! I also love to read and spend time with friends and family. Before I left for my mission I was working in accounts receivable and I spent two semesters previously at BYU-Idaho. I love my family...they mean the world to me!

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the church and was baptized at 8 years old. From a young age I really loved going to church, singing Primary songs and learning about the gospel. Things have happened throughout my life that have built my faith. Something that was really important in building my testimony of this church was reading The Book of Mormon all the way through for the first time. I felt such a strong sense of direction and right when I read it and I almost couldn't get enough. I was anxious to read it each day and find out what came next. I knew it was true. Each time I read The Book of Mormon I get something new from it. Different things have been going on during different times in my life, so the words in the book are always the same, but the message and insights I receive from the verses can be completely different. No matter what, it will always apply because the Spirit is there to help us receive direction and inspiration through the words we read there. The principles and standards in the church have guided me to lead a clean, moral life. I could have easily gone a different route if I had chosen to not follow those standards, but I'm so thankful that I was able to stay on track and keep my life going in the right direction. I have a close, personal relationship with Heavenly Father, and I have learned through the church that this is not only possible, but it's what Heavenly Father wants for all of us. He loves us so much. I'm so thankful and comforted to know that He has a plan for us and that we all can return to live with Him someday.

How I live my faith

Before I left for my mission, I was serving as a young single adult leader in my community. I would help organize and lead activities and get-togethers each week for single adults from the ages of 18-30. I also would lead the primary children in music time on Sundays. I would help them to learn the songs, play singing games with them, and lead them in the music. In the past I have had many callings and each one has helped me to learn and grow and serve others at the same time.
