Hi I'm Meredith White Siharath

I'm a Mormon, a wife, a mom, a zumba fanatic, and a student! I live in Oklahoma, and am trying to juggle school and life.

About Me

I am a mom in my 40's who decided that going back to school was going to be a piece of cake because I'm now older and wiser. HA! It is such a challenge to be a good student AND a good wife AND a good mother AND a good friend, etc. I feel like I am meeting myself coming and going. I love to dance and have been taking Zumba classes with my daughter, who also happens to be in college, for the past year. My son and I wrestle each other to see who is stronger, but it's getting harder for me to beat him the bigger and older he gets! I love to read and watch action/adventure movies. My husband is my best friend and the best cook (I lucked out there, ladies) ever. I love being outside, especially when it is cool out. I like to walk around and love gardening. I am thrifty and creative and gregarious. I am the type of person who will strike up a conversation with you, even if I've never seen you before. I love meeting people and think that EVERYONE has a story and wonderful experiences to add to the world.

Why I am a Mormon

I love my savior, Jesus Christ. I had a great relationship with Him as a child, but I found myself running from Him when I made stupid mistakes as a teen. I felt that I needed to be perfect, even as He is, but when I fell short, I felt that I didn't deserve His love. It wasn't until I became an adult and had kids of my own, that I started understanding the depth of love that Heavenly Father feels for ALL of His children. It was when I came to the realization that not only did I still love my kids when they made mistakes, but that I went out of my way to love them THROUGH the rough times. I know I would honestly do anything to help my loved ones, and when they need my help, my arms are stretched out. Heavenly Father showed His love by sending His only begotten into the world to be the perfect sacrifice for our sins--THAT is how much He loves us. And because Jesus Christ accepted this calling, I came to know that He, my elder brother, loved me and wanted me back with Father, too. Once I realized that the only thing Heavenly Father wanted for me to do is to give my sins away and not look back, I RAN to Him. I love my savior for His Atoning sacrifice that made this possible. I have the opportunity every day to try to be a little bit better than I was the day before. I am happier and have the greatest joy because of it. I chose to be a Mormon because of my experiences that lead me to do a lot of searching, pondering, and praying. Here is where I found the FULNESS of the gospel of Jesus Christ that explained the Savior's love for me, as well as giving me a knowledge of where I fit in His plan and in the world.

How I live my faith

As I said before, I am an adult student. I also attend religious study classes at the Institute of Religion on campus, where I am currently enjoying the Old Testament. I am also the president of the Young Women's program in our ward where I teach teenage girls how awesome it is to be alive in this day and age. This is a very recent calling for me, but I know that the time is right, right now! I am trying to convey to the youth what I did not know as a teen: the Lord gave us commandments to protect us and help us be happy. And although we should try our best to keep the Lord's commandments, we will fall short in many areas because we are human. BUT (and here's the good news) through the infinite Atonement of the Lord Jesus Christ, we can be forgiven and washed clean IF we turn our sins over to Him and give Him our best effort. Period. I have the privilege of being a mom and everything associated with that calling in life, too. I also try to help out my husband at the elementary school where he teaches, as well as helping my great friends I've had since childhood, or newer friends I've made. I try to be a good neighbor by helping out some elderly people in the neighborhood with chores, as well as by making sure my flower beds are weeded on a semi-regular basis. :) I also help teach a free, public, zumba class.
