Hi I'm Amylee

I am from Northen Utah. I LOVE music and helping others express themselves through music. I love dancing in the rain! I'm a Mormon

About Me

I am the olderest child of a family of six. I have three younger brothers. I always wanted a sister growing up and cried each time I was told my mom was going to have another boy, but I wouldn't give up any one of my brothers for anything. Bring the oldest and the only girl has its pluses:) I love music (all kinds), old movies, and running in/dancing in/watching the rain. Right now I am serving a full time mission for the church of Jesus Christ of latter day saints. I LOVE it! When I end I will return to college, work, and play, but for right now the mission is my life. I chose to serve because of my love for the Savior and the happiness I have had in my life for knowing I am a daughter of God. In new situations I tend to be a more quiet person, some people say shy, but I don't think I am shy just very observant. With this personality trait, when I first started the mission I thought it would be hard to talk to other people about what I believe, but it really isn't. It is exciting to connect with random people on a very personal level everyday and talk with them about the love god has for us!

Why I am a Mormon

Why am I a Mormon? I have been asked that question a lot, more on my mission then ever before. I was born into the church. Both of my parents come from a long line of members in the church. I have had amazing parents that have taught me to know God and how to make good choices. One of the best things my parents have taught me is how to use my agency and letting me use it for myself. Yes, I grew up in the church, but I still had to have my our conversion and build my own testimony of Jesus Christ to choose to follow His gospel. My conversion has been a life long journy and I hope it will contuine forever. I always wanted a cool conversion story and was always envious of those that found the gospel later in their lives, becuase they always had the 'cool' conversion story. I never really took the time to see how blessed I was to always have the gospel in my life. I think I really started to figure out why I am a follower of Jesus Christ in High School, then a little more in College, and now even more as a missionary. I have begun to notice the simple beautiful everyday miracles. Everyday the lords hand is in my life and when I recognize it my testimony grows. I feel like I have a solid foundation in the gospel of Jesus Christ because he has built my tetimony, conversion story, foundation, or whatever esle you want to call it slowly. I am a Mormon becuase of the everyday miracles, the love I feel when I learn about Christ, and the journy I still have ahead of me!

How I live my faith

Well right now I have the amazing opportunity and honor to live my faith 24/7! But living my faith is more then being a missionary. It is going the extra mile everyday! It is smiling at that person that might be having a hard day, listening to someone that needs a friend, taking the time out of my busy schedule to visit a neighbor, or giving us sleep in the morning to study the scrpitures more! I love listening to people, to tell you the truth I might give up talking all together if I could... ok maybe not:) But I really love to hear what people have to say. Everyone in this life has something to tell or share that can help uplift or motivate others. I feel living my faith is giving everyone else the opportunity to be heard and loved. Living my faith is being a true follower of Jesus Christ, or always striving to do what he would do in my actions, thoughts, and deeds.
