Hi I'm Adam

I grew up in Ohio, I'm married and have a little daughter. I am starting my last year of optometry school, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a father of a very special little girl, and the husband of a wonderful woman. I grew up in Ohio and attended college at Brigham Young University for my undergraduate degree. We now live in Indiana where I'm attending optometry school. After many years of schooling I'm finally coming to the end. I love spending time with my family and playing with my daughter. My family means everything to me and is the most important part of my life, outside of my religion.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the LDS church and at a young age I became very interested in finding out for myself if my parents' faith was true like they always taught me. After reading and studying the Book of Mormon and praying about its truthfullness, I gained my own witness that my parents religion was true. Now my parents religion is my religion. Being a member of the church is a huge blessing in my life and the life of my family. Now my wife and I are teaching our daughter about our religion and someday she too will have the opportunity to decide for herself if she agrees. Serving a two year mission for the church when I was 19 was a huge blessing too. The lessons I learned as a missionary shaped the person I am today.

How I live my faith

My wife and I strive to be as faithful to our religion as possible. I have the great opportunity to organize all the teaching that occurs in our church so it helps me to always study the gospel, so that I'm ready at any moment if needed to fill in if a teacher is sick or unable to teach their class. Since we have no paid clergy, every member has the opportunity to help out in the church. Helping out in the church has always been more of a blessing than it is a sacrifice.

What is the Mormon lifestyle like? How do Mormons live?

Mormons live life just like any other person living. We all have our struggles and our weaknessess, but one great blessing of the church is that it helps us overcome whatever we are struggling with in our lives. Of coarse our lifestyle is a little different from most. We abstain from alcohol, tobacco, and coffee. As a result I don't go to the bars with my friends. Often people ask if I ever have fun since I don't drink...the answer is very simple. I enjoy life to the fullest. I cherish every moment that I breath. Because of this attitude I've never felt left out because I don't drink. Life is full of wonderful moments, we just have to embrace them. Living the gospel allows me to embrace all these moments to the best of my ability. Show more Show less
