Hi I'm Rachel Leota-Leuluaialii

I am Samoan, I was born in New Zealand, Moved & Grew Up in Sydney Australia and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I absolutely LOVE talking to people, I love to laugh and get to know how different people have fun. I play love to play the Piano - something about listening to the piano always helps me to relax and think deeply - When I was younger I did alot of dancing; Jazz, Tap, Ballet, Hip Hop and joined a Pacific Islander dance group, BUT I can't dance ! I like to think that I'm pretty hilarious and can both give and take a JOKE, I'm a strong believer of having a good sense of humour. I also love reading (Action Books or The Supernatural),watching movies and TV Shows - MOVIE ADDICT :) - I also LOVE playing Wii or XBox games. My family is my life, I can not image a world where I didnt have my family around. I'm currently serving as a LDS Missionary in the Provo Utah Mission. The choice to serve a mission was a hard one because it meant that I wouldnt see my family for 18 months. One thing that helped me to decide to serve a mission was knowing that there are millions of other families out there that Value their family like I do and that the Message of the Gospel of Jesus Christ could BLESS and strengthen their family and through the Gospel their family can be ETERNAL ! I had it in my mind that It would be selfish of me to keep the JOY that the gospel has brought to my life to myself and so here I am in Utah Sharing the message of Happiness. I know Heavenly Father has a plan for all of us and I know that there is a way to find everlasting Peace and Happiness in this life !

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the Mormon Faith BUT even then I had to find out for myself if it was TRUE. When I was about 9 or 10 years old my parents asked me if I knew the Church was true and I answered "I don't know". My parents smiled. They encouraged me to read scriptures and to Pray. I did these things for a while, but I still didnt know if it was true. One day at Primary school my friend's mother was asking everyone what church they went to, it finally came to my turn and I said "I'm a MORMON" in which she replied "Ohhh No good". I was so upset, I went home and told my mum, my mum then asked, Why did that make you upset ? - It was then that I realised that it was because I knew that the church was true, I knew that it was the Gospel that made me happy and that having my family all unified in the same belief gave me direction. I then made a choice that from that moment on I would always prayto Heavenly Father to keep me strong and in the church. It' gets hard at times, but I know that I'm not alone, my Heavenly Father will always hear me!

How I live my faith

I always share with my friends that being apart of a Faith isn't just a 'once-a-week' activity. For me, the way I live my life is based on what I learn from the Saviour and the Scriptures. Everything I do is my Faith. Living the teachings of the church is a way of life. Every Monday my family has a "Family Home Evening" which is Quality family time, during that time we have a lesson about how to be better examples and followers of Christ and then we have a game, sing songs, say prayers and share what we call "Happy Thoughts". I think my favourite part of Family Home Evening is sharing what made me happy that week. I find that when we shared with each other what made us happy that week, that we were able to grow in love and unity as a family ! At Christmas time our family also likes to go carolling - Singing to members in the ward, at Nursing homes and to our neighbours, it's like sharing the gospel through song ! I would be nothing without my faith. The gospel has made me who I am today :)
