Hi I'm Marty

I'm a Mormon. I grew up in Michigan. I'm married and have 4 children. I love serving my community as our school's PTA President.

About Me

I am married and a mother of 4 children. I love being involved in their lives, school, and in the community. I enjoy being the PTA President at my kids' school. I love decorating my house, gardening, and politics. I also enjoy walking and having lunch with friends.

Why I am a Mormon

My mother was a convert to the LDS faith. She was in the military growing up so she attended many different churches. She met my dad (who was Mormon) at the University of Colorado and fell in love. My mom was baptized a few years after my parents were married. I was raised LDS and loved it. There weren't many LDS people in my school so I often had to stand up and defend my beliefs. Looking back, I am grateful for the strength I gained from that. My husband and I are raising our children and both attend church regularly. I love the Lord. I know that Jesus Christ lives and loves me. I know that Heavenly Father has a plan for me and my family.

How I live my faith

I have always felt that my most important job is to be a mom to my kids. I love it, even though there are a lot of hard days! I also love to teach the pre-teens and teens in church. Kids this age have so many hard choices to make and I love being a friend to them and helping them make those good choices.

Are Mormons Christians?

Marty
Absolutely! It's in the name of our church--The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I believe in Jesus Christ. I study his life and try to be more like him. When people need help, even if I'm busy, I think to myself, "What would Jesus do?" When somebody is unkind to me or my children I think to myself, "What would Jesus do?" He would turn the other cheek and forgive that person. I am trying to be kind, loving, forgiving, and holy just like Jesus is. I love the Savior and am so grateful that he died for me and my sins. But the real miracle of it, and only because he is the Son of God, is that he resurrected. And because Jesus Christ resurrected, we will all resurrect. And if we obey all of God's commandments and try to live the best life we can, we can return to live with our families, Jesus Christ, and Heavenly Father again one day. Show more Show less
