Hi I'm Mike Erickson

I work at Google. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a Software Engineer, and graduated from UCLA with a degree in Computer Science. I like hiking, rock climbing, snowboarding, messing around with Android programming, and eating jelly beans. I have two wonderful boys and a lovely wife.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born in the Church, but stopped attending when I was 18. After spending six years gaining experiences and being disappointed with the direction my life was headed, I studied the gospel of Jesus Christ and the teachings of the Mormon church. I found that the Church is true and that I could be happy by living their teachings.

How I live my faith

Once a month, I teach a short lesson (about 30 minutes) to a group of 20 men aged 20 to 40, and we discuss various aspects of the gospel of Jesus Christ and the teachings of current and past Church leadership. In particular, we focus on how we can apply those teachings in our everyday lives so we can be better people, kinder individuals, and more compassionate community members.

How can we increase our faith in Jesus Christ?

The best way to increase your faith is through trials. When life is getting tough and you feel overwhelmed, it's time to test your faith. If you follow God's commandments, study the scriptures, and work very hard, God will pick up the slack and help you get over the hump. Show more Show less
