Hi I'm Miranda

I'm from Kirtland, Ohio. I spread happiness like a disease, I'm always smiling, I'm on a mission in Germany, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am 19 years old and have an amazing mom and dad and 3 younger siblings who are the best!! I love my family and I love life! I love being happy, and always have a grin to share :). I love to sing and I play flute and trumpet and I would love to learn how to play the piano. I've completed one semester so far at the best university in the world, namely Brigham Young University, and now I'm taking a break from school, family, and life in general, to serve a mission for the Lord for a year and a half here in Germany. Yup. That means I now speak German - Big surprise there! But that's me! Goin' at life with a grin!

Why I am a Mormon

I realize more every day just how much my Heavenly Father loves me. I want to become the person who he wants to help me become. He has helped me find happiness in life. My life completely changed once I relied on Him. Just a couple years ago, I was in a dark place. I couldn't get myself out of the overwhelming, seemingly bottomless hole in my life. I'm not even sure what it was either. But it was destroying me. I hated my life, I never got along with my family, and I was often angry and out of control. It scared me. I was my own enemy. I tried and tried to climb out of this pit, but no matter how hard I tried, nothing changed. I didn't know what to do. My family didn't know what to do. I was stuck. One night, after a particularly bad episode, I remember curling up in a ball in the bathroom and shaking uncontrollably and crying. I was hopeless. I'd tried everything. Then in my bedroom, I knelt by my bed for a long time, and just cried. I begged my Heavenly Father for help. I couldn't do this alone. I wanted so bad to change my life. I wanted to be free. That was the turning point. God gave me hope and determination through the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I have a testimony of the power of the Atonement and how it allows us to change. God knows us. He knows what we're going through, and he loves us so much. He's there to help us when we come to him. I love my Savior. And he loves me. And now I consider myself to be one of the happiest people on the planet. I follow Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

Right now I'm on a mission in Frankfurt, Germany, to help people find the same joy, freedom, and, above all, hope that I've been able to find through the gospel of Jesus Christ. I know the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day-Saints is God's church on Earth. And when we follow His teachings, we can have hope that doesn't come any other way. Hope that we will receive eternal life, and that we will live with our families and with God for eternity after we die. Hope that everything will turn out all right. Hope for a better world. And when we find this hope that comes through Jesus Christ, we find peace and solidity in life. Things can still be hard. Life is not easy. But despite how hard it can be, we are sure and solid, with our faith in Jesus Christ. My favorite scripture is in the Book of Mormon, in Ether 12:4. "Wherefore, whoso believeth in God might with surety hope for a better world, yea, even a place at the right hand of God, which hope cometh of faith, maketh an anchor to the souls of men, which would make them sure and steadfast, always abounding in good works, being led to glorify God." And I want to help others find that in their lives. That's why I'm on a mission.
