Hi I'm Tyler

I'm a jazz music enthusiast, drummer, hearing aid tech, and a Mormon.

About Me

I love immersing myself in the life and music of jazz greats like Miles Davis, Thelonious Monk, Stan Getz, Charlie Mingus, etc. Music has always been my vessel of self expression and exploration. I play the drums in a jazz trio at weddings, parties, and restaurants. Aside from music, my hobbies include hiking, camping, mountain biking, and super smash bros. I graduated Brigham Young University studying Communication Disorders. I now fix old hearing aids, fit new ones, and often quote Dumbledore, "Alas... Earwax." Most of my time at the clinic is spent with the greatest generation. I listen intently to our senior's stories when they come in for a hearing aid. Some talk of swing dancing, growing up in the depression, war. I hope to give back to those who have already given so much. Few things bring me greater joy than seeing a husband hear his wife clearly for the first time in decades.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because of the infinite love of Jesus Christ. My testimony of him is rooted deeply in the Book of Mormon. It outlines God's plan for our salvation, and teaches and testifies of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. It clarifies misunderstood doctrines, and above all, is a testimony to the world that Christ continues to lead his church, and that his love and grace is sufficient for all men. We must come unto him in faith, lay all our sins on the altar, enter into the covenant of baptism as he has taught us, and receive the Holy Ghost to be saved.

How I live my faith

James 1:27 "Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world."

Are Mormons Christians?

2 Nephi 25:26, "And we talk of Christ, we rejoice in Christ, we preach of Christ, we prophesy of Christ, and we write according to our prophecies, that our children may know to what source they may look for a remission of their sins." Though we may differ from mainstream Christianity on some things, we are truly Christian in every sense of the word. The foundation of this church is Jesus Christ. Show more Show less
