Hi I'm Mylene Duncan

I'm originally from Quebec, Canada. I moved to SC when I was 12. I'm a stay at home mom. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a stay at home mom to a VERY active little boy. I enjoy cooking and baking and although I am not very crafty, I do like to do craft nights with my lady friends. I am the youngest of 5 kids. 4 girls and 1 boy total.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church. My parents joined the church when they were 18. I feel very blessed that my parents chose to join the church. Our family life as been very blessed because of that decision they made. I was taught good values and chose to harken to their teachings. My sibilings did fall away from the church at one point, and I saw what it did to their lives and how it affected my parents. I wanted no part of that. They all came back to the church eventually, and we are all married and we all have children of our own now except for my brother. The gospel is so simple. All of its teachings are true. It's all good! All of it will make your life easier and happier. A lot of people might think that there are too many "restrictions" but when you really think about it, it's all there to keep you free. The word of wisdom is the primary example. Drugs and alcohol will destroy your life if you're not careful. So why mess with it? Just keep away from things that will bound you to addiction. Family is so important and a lot of the church's teachings have to do with family and keeping it closer. Satan knows that a strong family can do anything, and he will stop at nothing to tear it apart.

How I live my faith

I am currently in the primary presidency. I love my calling. Children are so sweet and so pure. They haven't yet been influenced by the ways of the world yet. They are so full of love and it's encouraging when they come up to you to give you a hug. :) I have worked with the youth before and that was a bit more challenging. I loved the girls so much, and you want them to understand that it's not worth it to go and fall away. It may seem like fun, and it might be for a little while, but it's only temporary. It won't be long before you get yourself in a bad situation and think to yourself, what am I doing here? Am I happy? Why am I not happy? When was I happy? The answer is that only when you live the gospel you can truely be happy. And that is what I try to do. I am not perfect by any means, but I try my hardest to live as He would want me to. To teach my child so that he knows that we love him and that his Heavenly Father loves him too. Teach him to pray and have a relationship of his own with Him.
