Hi I'm Claudene

I'm a Mormon. I enjoy storytelling to children in schools, and events. I also am an advocate to help others with mental illness.

About Me

Hello Out There! I love making new friends. I am a Grandmother that enjoys telling stories to my Grandchildren and others to entertain, bring a smile to their faces, and lift up their spirits. I also am working with a relative who has a mental illness so I have given this a priority to educate myself and my family members. Then I teach a class as an advocate/facilatator to alleviate the suffering and confusion felt by relatives of a family member with mental illness. Teaching is a passion of mine so when asked I act as a substitute in a religious seminary for teenagers. Along with all the above I love reading, playing the piano and enjoying nature. At present I serve as a full time missionary with my beloved husband of 50 years. This is a choice blessing and as we hope we are making a difference, we know it has made a difference in our lives.

Why I am a Mormon

Being a Mormon is a way of life for me. I try daily to make our Savior my center. When I was a harried young mother, I would take a short breather on the front steps, praying that the Lord would be my center to give me patience, understanding and discernment. I know my Savior loves me and He encourages me to make decisions daily that matter most for each day. This is still a difficult thing for me to do--deciding what I should do with my time. Choices are many! I believe with all my faith and heart that Jesus died for us all. His Atonement is a real principle in my life knowing that it is applicable to me in day to day living. I know that He lives and that He was resurrected for us all, that we too need not fear death, but will live again. This is our Savior's Gift to us all. The Word of God is found in our scriptures. Though they were written long ago, it's a foolish person who says they are archaic words for we must learn and find inspiration from those who've gone before. What God has spoken is for us today, whether through scripture or from living prophets today. I believe in the Bible as far as it's translated correctly and I believe the Book of Mormon is a Second Witness of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. This knowledge blesses my life and the lives of my family. May you find truth in what I write, because I speak with integrity and love for you, whomever you are and wherever you are. Blessings to you, is my prayer.

How I live my faith

My faith is a living thing: it's how I appropriate my time. Performing service for others blesses my life and gives me hope that I too can help another with their trials. At present I am serving as a full time missionary seeking people with whom to share the precious Gospel of Jesus Christ. When they feel the Spirit I know they believe what I tell them. They have a light in their eyes and a hope in their hearts. They ask questions about our faith and we find they begin to enjoy reading the scriptures again. We try to help others understand the need for a "restoration of all things" --yes, even the Gospel of Jesus Christ needed restoring because of the Dark Ages, and loss of the Priesthood from the earth. We now live in a time when the Gospel has been restored and is being taught throughout the world. Time and again the Savior's spirit, through the Holy Ghost, has led us to someone who wants to know more about our beliefs. I have had rapid answers to prayers. I know He hears me and wants me to represent Him in the best way I can. Recently II wrote and directed a play called ,"Women Who Knew Christ" and last Sunday it touched lives and spirits as we presented it to those who attended. The women, from several faiths, spoke with conviction and testimony. They blended harmoniously as they sang wonderful faith filled songs. It was a miracle to have it happen so well and touch so many. I know that Lord's Spirit was with us the entire time. So many said they could feel any amazing feeling from this presentation. It is a thrill to bring truth of Savior to those around us!
