Hi I'm Scott

I am from Glendora, California, United States. I love fast and fun cars, I am a bagpiper, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a car guy. My first muscle car was a 1972 Chevrolet Nova SS 350 and I loved it. My favorite cars are the Shelby Cobras of the 60s and I hope to build my own Shelby someday. Another hobby I love is fish tank keeping. I have a huge 55 gallon aquarium in my room. I also love ponds and waterfalls. Running water is just so peaceful and relaxing for me. It really gives me a chance to connect with our amazing environment heavenly Father has blessed us with. Finally, I love music. Jazz, swing, and classical are my favorites to listen to. I also play the mighty Great Highland Bagpipe. I had the grand opportunity to play in the Rose parade in 2010. The route was long, but it was so much fun, I even got a ten second close up. Well, that's me in a nutshell. Thanks for checking out my profile.

Why I am a Mormon

The church has brought me great happiness in life. Knowing that I have a father in heaven that I can pour out my soul to brings great comfort through the bumps and bruises. It also brings great opportunities for service, I love to help people out. The church brings people together to work and to play which is always fun and heartwarming. Our church hymnal provides me with songs and doctrine that comfort me and lift me up. It is my testimony that I know God lives. I know that he sent his son, Jesus, to die for our sins. I know that Joseph Smith was instrumental in bringing the true church of Christ back to the earth. I testify that the Book of Mormon is a testament of Christ and is a companion to the bible. I believe the bible to be the word of God as far as it is translated correctly. I know that there are Temples on the earth where people can be sealed to their family for this life and the next. I know that our Prophet, Thomas Spencer Monson, receives revelation through Jesus Christ on how to lead and guide this church. Finally, I testify that I am blessed with personal revelation to help me go forth in life, and to know these things are true. I am LDS! I know it, I live it, and I like it!

How I live my faith

I live the gospel by serving others. Weather with yard work, painting, or exercising my priesthood authority, I know that I am living the Gospel. Every night I am on my knees asking Heavenly Father for a good night sleep and how to better serve others. I regularly attend church to be spiritually fed at the beginning of each week. Being a home teacher, I can help people with their trials and help them have a strong testimony of Jesus Christ. Because I love my Father in heaven, serving him is what I want to continue to do throughout the rest of my life here on earth and in heaven.

What is the Word of Wisdom that Mormons talk about?

I have been greatly blessed with a healthy body so I can help others. Obeying the word of wisdom allows me to get a good night sleep and helps me rise refreshed. I have told myself that I do not need any drugs to improve my body's function and Heavenly Father has blessed me for obeying his commandments Now as far as caffeine is concerned, there is no revelation or commandment given by God that tells us to refrain from caffeine. Many Mormon parents have instructed their children not to drink caffeinated drinks because caffeine is addictive, and if one drinks too much caffeine, then it will have negative effects on the body. So it truly is a personal decision wether to drink caffeinated drinks. Show more Show less

What do Mormons believe concerning the doctrine of grace?

I truly believe that we are save by grace, after all we have done to let heavenly father know that we are worthy to enter his kingdom, for no unclean thing can live in the presence of God. Show more Show less
