Hi I'm Kathy

I'm a Marathon Runner, Biker, Wood Worker, House Builder, Mom & Grandma. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a 60 year old woman who acts like I'm 20. I love life and every opportunity that is placed before me! I married a VERY adventurous guy 39 years ago and he has taken me all over this world! We have lived in many different states and countries and have enjoyed participating in the gospel, everywhere we've been. We have raised 4 awesome children and are now enjoying being grandparents to 5 grandkids. I was fortunate enough to be a "stay-at-home" Mom and loved every minute of it. I love to read, watch documentaries, and travel. My favorite accomplishments are all of the athletic events I have done. I just ran my 5th Marathon this year! I have also run 5 (1/2) marathons and many other triathlons, and competitions. I like to make goals and really only compete with myself. I have run 1000 miles per year for the last 4 years. My favorite accomplishment lately, has been biking 500 miles on the "Camino De Santiago" in Spain. The beauty of that country is beyond words. This year we biked 300 miles in Sicily, Italy. Though I enjoy traveling with my husband, I am happy at home with my "saw" and a piece of wood. I love to create anything out of wood!

Why I am a Mormon

I was actually born a "Mormon". But, as I grew up, I had a chance to decide for myself if I wanted to stay a member. I had some rebellious years as a teenager, and from these experiences, I decided early on that I loved the way the church helped us be better people. I made mistakes, and as I prayed for forgiveness, I could feel my Heavenly Father's love for me. I decided that my parents had a wonderful life, and I wanted the same. By watching them, I knew I wanted to find a good man to marry and it just seemed to me that the church had so many opportunities and guidelines to help us have a happy marriage and raise our children. I love being a Mormon and I love all my friends who aren't Mormon. They know that I am and they respect me, and I respect them!

How I live my faith

I am preparing for a mission with my husband right now. I have enjoyed teaching the children and women in our church, but my favorite is teaching the Young Women. I LOVE the YW and find myself very attached to all of the girls I have taught through the years. I love to share stories with them of how I gained my testimony and of the different experiences I have had in life. Being that we have traveled and lived outside of my home country, I have met people from different faiths and from different backgrounds. I love talking to them and just learning about other people. Wherever we have lived or visited, I love to go to church on Sunday and meet new people and renew my own faith.
