Hi I'm Tara

I love to laugh! Wearing cowboy-boots means it is an extra good day! I'm a Mormon

About Me

I may have grown up in the city but my heart is in the country life. One of the virtues I hope to live is to be more fearless, “To me, fearless is living in spite of the things that scare you to death” (Taylor Swift). Each day, I strive to be more “faithful and fearless” (Hymn 237) through God’s love and direction. I love to laugh and laugh all the day long. God has blessed me with a gift to laugh with ease. I love being with my family and friends who lift me up. I was able to “find myself” while I attended and graduated from Snow College. Thanks be to my God for His divine intervention in blessing my path with amazing friends. I’m not sure I’d be the same without their guiding influence. Most excitingly about me, currently, is that I am a full-time representative of Jesus Christ! I am serving a mission FOR HIM in the metro Detroit part of His vineyard. I’m LOVING every minute of it! It truly is like a rollercoaster, the best rollercoaster of life EVER!

Why I am a Mormon

My JOOOOOY is given because I am Mormon! True JOY!! Eternal JOY!!! My God knows me perfectly. He hears me. Just like in the Greg Olsen painting, “I’m in His Constant Care” like the sparrows in Luke 12:6-7. He loves me. I am of value to Him! I love Him! He wants me to be a part of His fold! I believe in a God of miracles and angels. By His divine intervention and inspiration, angels are here now everyday on this earth EVEN NOW! There are also those on the other side, beyond this lifetime, just like Elder Holland defines (See “Ministry of Angels” October 2008 General Conference) I am happiest living and learning “the good news of Christ” just because He loves all of us: you, me, and the WHOLE WORLD! How wonderful! I know this! It took time to search, ponder, pray, fast, and live to know this for myself! It is most sweet indeed! I am so happy because of the enabling power and love from the Atonement of Jesus Christ and of His amazing grace to those who choose Him and come unto Him. He is always inviting us to “come” and to partake of His goodness. We just reach out and choose Him to “lead [us], and guide [us], and walk beside [us]” (Hymn 301). It is that easy! It is all up to us! (See DOCTRINE AND COVENANTS 84:88). His promises are always kept! I live to feast on the words of Christ! The scriptures come so alive when I focus on what matters most. Mind-blowing studies are beautiful things!

How I live my faith

I allow myself to personalize my Savior. Coleen Terry said, “Define your God. Don’t place a mortal limitation on an immortal God who loves you.” SO that’s what I do! My Savior loves me, He LOVES you! He has allowed each of us to be a part of His plan of Happiness! Being optimistic that I have a purpose in my God’s plan is so essential! I’ve struggled with this truth for a long while BUT I have now understood and try to live what I know. I do my best to “ cheerfully do all things that lie in [my] power; and then [to] stand still, with the utmost assurance, to see the salvation of God, and for his arm to be revealed” (DOCTRINE AND COVENANTS 123:16-17) I know that God’s eyes are different than mine. I can’t see what He sees but as I learn and grow like a child I’m able to see beyond! (See DOCTRINE AND COVENANTS 58:3) I desire to serve my fellow men every chance I can get. I love and live to serve. I hope to leave this life with that known to others. I don't have specific callings in my ward. "Every member a missionary" President McKay coined the phrase, where which I am such as well. I am called to be a friend. I am obedient and dependable to build up this progressing Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints! Currently, I live my faith by serving a full-mission for my Savior Jesus Christ.

Why do Mormon missionaries proselyte?

Tara
It may surprise you at how many people who don't know who the Mormons are. We send out missionaries to help change that. 2 Corintians 5:20 says, "Now then we are ambassadors‍ for Christ..." and so that is exactly what we want to do today because we love our Lord and Savior, even the Son of God, Jesus Christ. We want everybody and anybody to know who we are and who we represent. We represent Jesus Christ. We will knock on your door or contact you in the park or a busy street corner just to talk to you and invite you to learn, love, and follow the restored Church of Jesus Christ. The exact same church He set up 2,000 years ago. Don't be afraid of the young men and young women dressed up with black nametags. They are the nicest peopel you'll meet! They are not there to jump down your throat. We only invite you to come and learn more of Christ. :) Show more Show less
