Hi I'm Francisco J Lazaro

I'm a Mormon. I was baptized 7/23/95 along with my two boys. I am of Cuban descent and have been in the U.S. since 1958.

About Me

I am 62 years old I will be 63 in June and am a proud parent of two boys and one girl. I am married to a great woman from Venezuela who I married in 1997, and we merged our rwo families [she had a 20 year old girl then] and I had two boys,13 and 8. We lived in Miami where I was raising my two boys alone and it was love at first sight for me, we were married a year later and have been together since. Our children are out of the house so we are alone with only our two cats[Lucky and Bam-Bam]. We moved to Lexington Ky in 2009 to help take care of her Mom and to change our employment situation, and we are happy here since most of her family is here3 sisters and her Mom]. We are active in the church, my wife is a teacher of the principles of the gospel in Spanish and I am the Ward Mission Leader for both English and Spanish members. I enjoy sports, fishing and just seeing Mother Nature all around us. My wife is awesome with arts and crafts and she is always making something for her sisters and nieces, I enjoy working with the missionaries and have a lot of fun with them. We are all working hard to create a Branch for the Hispanics here and we are getting a lot lof help from the American members. I love the Gospel and the Priesthood and look forward to that Glorious day when I will meet the Lord. Soy un Mormon feliz con mi famlia y con nuestros amigos de la Iglesia aqui en Lexington,KY. Ayudar ha otros a encontrar el Evangelio es muy especial en nuestras vidas.

Why I am a Mormon

I became a Mormon after 5 months of reading the Book of Mormon and praying for a sign and I received it and was baptized along with my then 9 year old 7/23/95 in Miami,Fl and have been trying my best to live the Gospel ever since, my children are active and are now 28 and 23 and are creating their own lives. I was a Catholic member before but I was impressed by the LDS church and the way that the members treated my family and the fact that you could be taught more and even have the opportunity to teach others the Gospel. I have no doubt that this is the true church and have spoken to many investigators over the past 16 yeasrs and have shared my testimony with many. I know that many small miracles have happened in my life to strenghten my testimony over the years and know that there are more to come.

How I live my faith

I am the Ward Mission Leader and work with 6 missionaries every week to help those members in need and to bring the Light to investigators here in Lexington. My wife and I have our daily prayers and fast every month and are active in the Church. We have our family nights with some of our Hispanic members and we love to teach the Gospel to all. My wife teaches Gospel Principles in Spanish to the Spanish members and also teaches every now and then in separate organisations for women only. We attend the Conferences and as many activities that the church has so we can fellowship with others and help new converts to have some fun along with learning doctrine. We do share the Gospel with people we meet specially at work and always look for missionary opportunities to share the Word.
