Hi I'm Tyler

Welcome Friends!

About Me

I just finished serving a mission in the GKLM (Great Kentucky Louisville Mission)! I grew up in a large Mormon family (5 sisters, 3 brothers) in Utah. I love music; I was in symphonic band and jazz band, playing tuba and trombone respectively, and also took an AP music theory course. I served on my school newspaper as Editor in Chief, and I have a great appreciation for correct spelling. I love to read, I have a fascination with cars, and I love to do anything hands-on!

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a part of the LDS church my whole life. For most of my youth, like others, I relied on mom and dad for testimony. High school was somewhat of a rough patch for me; a rather rebellious phase. But I got over it, and my parents' firm foundation held me through. It wasn't quite enough, though. I had learned a lot from those experiences, and decided to find my own testimony; I read the Book of Mormon and prayed. What happened was not a heavenly choir, bright lights, or sudden revelation; it was more like the sun coming over the horizon. I couldn't tell you exactly when I knew this church was true, but I know now, beyond all doubt, that it is.

How I live my faith

I am a people person, and I love to serve others, so I am more than happy to visit people and talk with them. And of course I just committed two years of my life to the service of the Lord! I enjoyed doing it so much, because I gtt to share the truth and happiness that I know with others, and it doesn't stop now that I'm home!

Why are only some Mormons allowed into temples? Is there something secret going on in Mormon Temples? What goes on in Mormon Temples?

Tyler
Only those who are baptized and worthy members (meaning those living the standards required) of the Church may enter into a temple. It's not secret so much as sacred. Secrets are meant to be kept forever, sacred things invite us to learn them, after we have prepared ourselves spiritually to receive them. In the temple, we learn eternal truths, and receive and provide sacred ordinances that unite our families forever. Show more Show less

How can I know Mormonism is true?

Tyler
Read the Word of God (Bible, Book of Mormon, and other Standard Works), pray to God, attend His Church, and strive to be like His Son. Pay close attention to your thoughts and feelings while doing so. If it is good, it comes from God. Show more Show less

How are the activities of the Mormon missionaries funded?

Tyler
We actually save up for most of our teenage years, and our parents help too. We pay our own way, as it is volunteer work Show more Show less
