Hi I'm Andrew Cook

I'm an athlete, musician, Buckeye, brother and son and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm the second of 5 kids. I love playing basketball, hockey, golf, and tennis. Last year I attended Brigham Young University and am currently serving a spanish-speaking mission to McAllen, Texas! In high school I was a part of student government, choir, orchestra, service clubs and played basketball and tennis. I sing, play piano, guitar, and bass and music has really been a big influence in my life. I love spending time with my family and one of my favorite things to do with them is to go on bike rides or Sunday walks.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been blessed to be born into a family that has given me a strong legacy of faith. From a young age I was taught the principles of the gospel through prayer, scripture study, and going to church. I love the church and am grateful to have been brought up in such an organization. It really does feel like a second extended family! Everything about the gospel all fits together and I love sharing that with others because it has a message that directly applies in someway or another to each person's life. The Holy Ghost has confirmed to me the truthfulness of the Restoration of the gospel, of Joseph Smith's divine calling as a prophet, and of the Book of Mormon and I value that knowledge dearly. In my teenage years I've grown closer to my Heavenly Father through diligent study and prayer as I've sought to strengthen my faith in the Atonement of Jesus Christ. I know He is my Savior and the Savior of all mankind. I know that through the Atonement, we will live again beyond the grave and if righteous, we will live with our Heavenly Father and our families in the Celestial Kingdom. I'm grateful for the many righteous examples I have seen of people who have lived the gospel and it strengthens me and motivates me to live better. Over and over again in my life I have seen that true happiness only comes through following the commandments of our Heavenly Father and I know that the gospel brings peace and happiness in this life and joy in the world to come.

How I live my faith

I attend weekly worship services, participate in family home evenings, and serve as a home teacher. I am currently serving as a full time missionary. As a missionary I spend my time teaching others about our church and the message of the Restoration of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I will serve for 2 years in McAllen, Texas and I am so excited, especially to be teaching in the Spanish language! I also live my faith by sharing the gospel and how it has positively affected my life with many of my friends. I love having conversations with them about the questions of the soul and the things that all of us wonder as we pass through mortality. There is nothing more rewarding than being able to watch some one you love and are close to learn and grow as they progress spiritually! I also live my faith through daily scripture study, pondering, and prayer!
